AfterElton Briefs: Nuke 's anniversary kiss, and "Leaving Woodstock."

Happy belated anniversary, Nuke!

Following this assortment of carefully-selected news items, interested readers can find a refreshing pic of a hot man in underwear after the jump. Yes, we're serious.

  • We can't believe we missed it, but yesterday was the two year anniversary of Luke and Noah's first kiss on As the World Turns! On August 17, 2007 the pair became the first gay (male) couple to lock lips on a U.S. daytime soap. A lot has changed since then and sure, the Nuke storyline may have lain a bit fallow of late, but it is worth remembering what a groundbreaker that first kiss was. A gift of cotton is customary for second anniversaries, so I'm thinking of sending a set of dishtowels over to Proctor & Gamble. In the meantime, check out the video of that first kiss below...
  • Salon.com has an excellent essay from Thomas Rogers called "Ladies, I'm not your gay boyfriend" in which he explores the cultural phenomenon of the "f*g hag," and concludes it's been both good and bad for gay men. A thoughtful piece and worth reading.
  • "This ain't his first time at the rodeo." Big Brother 10's gay cowboy Steven Daigle posted nude shots of himself just to get 1,000 Twitter followers. One wonders what he might do for 10,000. You can check out our interview with him here.

  • Demetri Martin showed up on The Tonight Show to promote Taking Woodstock and successfully managed to dispel any interest I had in seeing the damn movie. He went on at length about how stressful and weird it was playing gay and kissing a guy (all while Conan tittered and f**king Shaquille O'Neal slid quickly away from him on the guest couch). Towleroad has a full transcript and the video.

And today's Briefs are brought to you by...

This guy!
