Your Asshat of the Week: Stand for Marriage Maine

Our asshat nominees this time out included an NFL running back, a Canadian Prime Minister and his speechwriter, and two hatemongering groups trying to preserve "traditional marriage" by scaring voters in Maine & Washington.
The fear peddlers from Maine take the prize this week.
Results after the break, as well as a suggestion as to how you can get involved in defending gay marriage in Maine.
Here are the voting results for this week's poll:

Maine voters will be asked to decide on Proposition 1 tomorrow (Tuesday, November 3rd.) This is going to be a very close vote. Even if you don't live in Maine it's not too late to volunteer in the fight to defeat this anti-gay marriage ballot measure (and frustrate this week's asshat winner). Sign up at ProtectMaineEquality.org to make calls to Maine voters! (They can provide you with a script, a phone list and instructions on how to conduct calls.)
We'll be back with a new selection of Asshat Smackdown nominees on Friday in editor Michael Jensen's Best Gay Week Ever column.
