Your Asshat of the Week: 52.7% of Maine Voters and the Catholic Church

Our asshat nominees this time out included homo hating athletes and their fans, a slim majority of Maine voters and the Catholic Church, a NY cab driver, and perennial asshat fave Pat Robertson.

For the second week in a row the asshat crown gets carted back to the state of Maine.

It's important to note that even though 52.7% of Maine voters were against gay marriage, there was still 47.3% of the Maine electorate who stood with their gay and lesbian brothers and sisters — and those folks definitely deserve cheering. To the rest (and to the Catholic Church for their fierce lobbying in support of Proposition 1) we say Boo and enjoy your asshat crown!
