Your Asshat of the Week: Pat Robertson

The 700 Club's grand poobah ran away with the Asshat crown this week.
For all the details on how the Alfred E. Neuman of televangelists bested the other challengers in this week's Asshat Smackdown!, read on!
Why he won: Last week Pat put on his Dear Abby hat and answered a question from a distressed 700 Club viewer who was struggling with how to treat her gay son. Pat's answer? To paraphrase: "Your son's probably not a 'so-called homosexual.' Rather, he was probably abused by a male authority figure such as a coach or counselor, so he thinks something is wrong with his sexuality." (You can watch the full video here).
As you can see from the chart below, clearly the coaching and counseling community formed a formidable voting block this week, carrying Pat to a decisive victory.

Just a few write-in votes this week, the most common being Gordon Ramsey and Maggie Gallagher.
We'll be back with another Smackdown on Wednesday, when your votes will determine which blowhard, homophobe, harridan and/or self-righteous harpie will inherit the Asshat crown next week. Feel like nominating anyone? Please share in the comments!
