Avatar of the Week: The California club

Greetings! After a week's hiatus for the holidays we're back with another edition of Avatar of the Week. And since it's cold and miserable here on the East Coast I thought we'd look to our brothers in sunny California for this week's avatar selections.

First up is new member "jebbers." Jebs is a professional musician who grew up in Laguna Beach "back when it was still fun." (I hear ya Jebs - Laguna is just not the same since the Boom Boom Room closed.) As a hobby he works with large breed dogs to rescue and rehabilitate them. Jebs says his "ambition now is to have a small farm, grow my own everything, rescue animals and wait for 2012 off the grid."

Okay, Jebs, I'm really curious: what happens in 2012, and why is it important to be "off the grid" when it happens?

Second up is Tidal Wave (aka Erin), a 21-year-old student from Davis, California.

He's of Filipino/Irish descent, and that's obviously a great mix - the guy has an absolutely killer smile, doesn't he?

Erin is a big fan of Margaret Cho, and on television enjoys So You Think You Can Dance, Heroes, and Ugly Betty. (I'm so with Erin on SYTYCD and Ugly Betty - Heroes not so much.) You can find out more about Erin on his myspace page

Our winner this week is "timmikat" (aka Moon Trent).

Moon Trent is a singer/songrwriter in Merced, California. His music has been described as "what might happen if the Scissor Sisters had a little brother that was dating Justin Timberlake and was into Fischerspooner when that was cool."

Hmm, I must really be out of the loop because I thought Fischerspooner was still cool.
