Avatar of the Week: netogeno

Call it Avatar of the Week: the hepcat edition.

First up is Frotch (aka Zaq_Roth), who makes the list mainly because I'm a sucker for redheads and was greatly amused by his moniker. Wild guess here but I'm thinking Frotch is short for Firecrotch? Anyhoo. Frotch is of Irish descent. No surprise there. He hails from Maryland and is a decathlete, holding state titles in several events.

He will be attending University of Maryland next year, which he describes in his profile as "good times waiting to happen."

Oh Frotch, I can already tell you're gonna break a lot of hearts on campus.

Second up is new member AMBoy00. (aka Chris Williams)

AMBoy is a 21-year-old web designer from Dallas, Texas. He is the webmaster for an online venture called PopSyndicate.com and also writes an online weekly column for that site.

His most recent column is titled "Leave English Alone!: Internet terms that should be removed from the conversation." Though he sounds a bit curmudgeonly for a 21-year-old, I have to say I agree with his assessments in that column. And hey, love the scruffy five o'clock shadow AMBoy!

Our winner this week is netogeno.

Neto is a 22-year-old personnel manager from Guatemala, and I love his impatient tomcat avatar. I must not be the only one because no less than two people emailed me to nominate him for Avatar of the Week!

Neto is a frequent comment contributor and is clearly a well-read young man. (His profile lists a number of favorite authors, among them Gore Vidal and Gabriel Garcia Marquez.)

So congratulations to runners up Frotch, and AMBoy00, and a special tip of the hat to this week's winner: netogeno!
