Battle of the Network Gays: January 15, 2010

Every week we pick the gays who we think have made the biggest splash in television (or pop culture in general) and leave it to you, the keepers of the flame, to decide who will be crowned Gay of the Week.
Okay, If you're wondering where a few rather obvious candidates are this week, we think given how much ink has been spilled around here lately over NPH, Barrowman and OLTL's "Kish" these heavy hitters should graciously retire from the battlefield this round and let some other worthy but lesser known candidates vie for the gay of the week crown.
This week's contenders:
- Project Runway's Anthony Williams.
"I grew up in Birmingham, Alabama.
And honey, it is HELL bein' black, gay, and in the ghetto!"
PR began it's seventh season last night and Anthony, with his sassy southern drawl and easy smile, was easily the member of Team Gay that most stood out. Sure his dress did wind up in the bottom three, be we hold out hope he'll hit his design stride. We'd like to see him around awhile.
- Big Love's Dale Tomasson. Where in Juniper Creek can a closeted accountant and trust executor go to meet other closeted guys? A public park apparently. We first meet Dale when he's confidently luring Alby Grant into the bushes. Not exactly a great beginning for a romance, but as played by Benjamin Koldyke we think this character holds some promise.

- The Secret Life of the American Teenager's Griffin. This week the show actually took the wrapper of its gay character. We mean that literally...
Brando Eaton as Griffin
- Ugly Betty's Marc St. John. This week it appeared Marc (Michael Urie) was trying to sabotage his current boss Daniel so he could get back to working for Wilhemina. The nice twist: It turned out he was purposefully screwing up in order to help Daniel. It's great to see Marc be the nice guy. (Last week he was sort of a jerk).

Vote for your favorite by noon EDT Monday. And be sure to check back next Tuesday on the blog to see which network gay our readers have carried to glory!
