Battle of the Network Gays: February 05, 2010

Every week we pick the gays who we think have made the biggest splash in television (or pop culture in general) and leave it to you, the keepers of the flame, to decide who will be crowned Gay of the Week.

This week's contest features a moon landing, a former Kish blocker, drag royalty, and some pantry petting in Pasadena. Check them out after the break and vote for your favorite.

  • Brothers & Sister's Kevin and Scotty
    Why?
Separately these guys got plenty of screen time, suffered a poignant setback in their attempt at surrogacy, Kevin wasn't a jerk for once, and they had that sweet scene together in the pantry. And perhaps most importantly, they did all that in a Brothers & Sisters episode that didn't suck! Welcome back both to Kevin & Scotty and the show.
  • Nicholas Rodriguez
Why? The out actor and former Kish-blocker is currently starring in the online series Then We Got Help, which this week nabbed the award for "Best Indie Web Series, Comedy!" by the Indy Soap Awards. You can check out the series here.
Dan (Nicholas Rodriguez) and Eric (Blake Hammond) of Then We Got Help
  • Ru Paul of Ru Paul's Drag Race
Why? The second season premiere of Drag Race was the highest rated Logo telecast ever. Guest judge Kathy Griffin added to the fun, but for once she wasn't the biggest personality on the stage. Ru herself ruled the roost looking glamorous and ageless. Best line of the night came from Ru Paul as contestant Tyra Sanchez sached down the runway:  "There's nothin' dirty about that Sanchez!" You can watch the episode online here.
  • Cameron from Modern Family
Why? Two words: Moon. Landing. Oh, and for whoopin' Jay at racquetball.

Jay: You got a name for it?
Cameron: At least it didn't happen after
a shower. We call that a "splashdown".

Vote for your favorite by noon EDT Monday. And be sure to check back next Tuesday on the blog to see which network gay our readers have carried to glory!

Poll has closed. Check back Tuesday on the blog for results.
