Battle of the Network Gays: June 04. 2010

This week it's the Battle of the Network Gays overseas edition! With American TV on a bit of a hiatus we happily turn our attention to foreign programming. In particular, European gay soap characters. Thanks to our own Anthony Langford and Gays of Our Lives, readers can keep up with all the action on Emmerdale, Shameless, Forbidden Love, All That Matters and other shows - so now it's time to find out which popular characters/couples are nearest and dearest to your heart!
Emmerdale's' Aaron Livesy
Why? Actor Danny Miller has won rave reviews for playing this troubled (and often violent) gay teen. He won Gay of the week back in April for this gut-wrenching scene. He's currently pining for Jackson (the guy he almost went to prison for gay-bashing).

Shameless' Mickey Maguire
Why? You want to both laugh at and cry for the comically inept yet painfully lonely Mickey. He's a sensitive soul trapped in the role of neighborhood thug by his gangster family. Season six of Shameless is currently airing in the US on the Sundance channel and the most recent episode has Mickey discovering his unlikely aptitude for penning erotica.

Forbidden Love's' Christian & Olli
Why? This wildly popular German duo are internet sensations thanks to YouTube clips and the wonderful chemistry between the two actors, Jo Weil and Thore Schölermann. There may be trouble in paradise recently, but no doubt Christian & Olli will work it out.

All That Matters' Roman, Deniz, and Marc
Why? Anyone who thinks ATWT's Luke has a hard choice between Reid and Noah will feel really sorry for Roman (played by out actor Dennis Grabosch) who finds himself torn between sexy and supportive long-time partner Deniz and irresistible ex-boyfriend Marc. This is a truly compelling gay love triangle.

Vote for your favorite by noon EDT Sunday. And be sure to check back next Monday on the blog to see which network gay our readers have carried to glory!
