Battle of the Network Gays: July 23, 2009

Every week we pick the gays who we think have made the biggest splash in televsion and leave it to you, the keepers of the flame, to decide who will be crowned Gay of the Week. We'll announce the winner in Friday's Best Gay Week Ever column, and that champ will reign until a new set of challengers are introduced the following week to try to steal his title.

For two weeks in a row you voted Captain Jack and Ianto ("Janto") into the seat of honor, but this week three new challengers will do their best to wrest away the scepter.

Ianto should definately be gay of the week after staging the daring rescue that lead to Capt. Jack's nude scene Tuesday night.

Besides that, he's trying to define his relationship with Jack while his sister is all up in his business about whether or not he's gay. That's enough to deal with without the whole "avoiding government assassins and saving the world from aliens" thing.

I agree that Ianto would deserve it, but Jack doesn't, he's not treating Ianto as he should :(

I think I'll go with Matthew Mitcham this week.

I really am not getting this whole Torchwood thing you people obsess over... LOL maybe I will have to put them in queue on Netflix to see what all the fuss is about....

when a real gay couple gets shut out by one that's created purely for a television show. I guess watching Janto's staged heroics is ten times better than the Guncles getting married and sharing it with the world.

Have the "Guncles" been away from our hearts for over a year after saving the world multiple times (even occassionally with the really-really-good-looking Doctor Who himself), only to come back better than before to save the human race in an action-packed, comedic, and terribly endearing way yet again! I...don't...THINK...SO!!!

Yes, after watching Season 3 I feel like my sweet, dorky boyfriend turned suddenly, violently abusive. I still love Ianto though. Probably even more now.
