Blood Work "True Blood" video blog Ep. 4: Jason gets an eggplant

In this week’s edition of Blood Work, host Brian Juergens and special guest Joe the Vampire explain why last night’s episode could have been called “The Continuing Adventures of Jason Stackhouse’s Penis.”  But the show wasn’t just about Jason’s private parts – we learn that the undead love puns and also get to see the inside of a vampire bar.

Check it out after the break!

Wahoo-I'm Totally Hooked on Trueblood ...

o and Alexander Skarsgård as the 1000 year old Eric Northman ( genius casting...)

I was sucked in at the credits in the first episode ...

    I really liked Fangtasia

This episode was great. I'm really happy that the show has been renewed for a second season already.

From previous previews we know that Tara has a falling out with Jason.

The other person that has a problem with the women Jason dates is TARA. Maybe she's involved with the murders somehow. Either Tara or Sam. Although I have no idea why Sam would be that psycho over Jason sleeping with the women he's had relationships with. Then again, he was sniffing Dawn's bedclothes so he's as good a suspect as any.

OR, it was the Detective who constantly feels slighted and disrespected by the towns-people and his colleagues at work.

OR, maybe it's Granma! And it's Friday the 13th all over again. Since she's the one everyone LEAST SUSPECTS I would peg her for the murderer. Afterall, Granma thinks Jason is such a Good-boy. Besides, why would a vampire leave the one videotape that exonerates Jason at the scene of the first murder? It would be more likely it's someone who cares about Jason. Either Granma or TARA.

    Mixed episode

Little Jasons Excellent Aventure really did get dragged too long. Talk about cringe inducing moments.

But the bar scenes were good because it keeps establishing the mythos of the series.

Did you guys noticed a goth kid with a vinyl high collared vest that shyed away from Sookie when she was in the bar? He is the new coroner kid that was introduced to Sook when they were taking Dawns body out of the house. Or at least it seems to me. Something is going to come of that ill bet, he is going to be a piece in the puzzle to find the killer.

Also, I find very interesting the apparent love-hate relationship between Bill and Eric. Many of us think Bill has an alterior motive to cozy up to Sookie and its evident he doesnt want any vampire to know about her abilities, of course that might just be to protect her. Although after the raid that might be a mute point but, is a power struggle looming or working together? Its a little early to say but when he was talking to the "gang, it seamed to me they were working toward something.

I dont think Sam is the killer and Trammel portrayal of a dog basking in something was funny but spot on, dog expose their belly like that when they are doing it.

"A muppet exit". That was hilarious. This was the first time this show went the really cheeasy way. Granted, this show doesnt take itself too seriously, but I mean vampires on rollerblades. Yeeez.

Still I give it an 8.

    I'm glad that other viewers

I'm glad that other viewers are seeing something similar between how protective the dog is to Sookie and how Sam wants to be towards her. Is Sam a werewolf or something? Between Being Human, The Lair (yes, I'm adding that show to this theory) and this show, whenever you have a vampire, there has to be a werewolf somewhere in the same story.

    and the killer is...

I think the killer is ether Sam because he had the keys and that weird sniffing he did at the end,but then again it maybe a bit to obvious.

I realy think its that guy that lives with his mother (Hoyt i think his name is) because he did know Dawn and it did not make sence that he would say that he never heard her voice, and also i think he knew that Sookie was listening to peeps thoughts and he was thinking those nice things about here to set here on the wrong track.

    Love this vlog!

Brian, you always notice stuff that I miss, so it's great that I can just watch this vlog and therefore not be in the total dark about things. But one thing you got wrong, Alexander Skarsgard is not Stellan Skarsgards brother, he's actually his son.

    Thanks!

And "Ack!" - I totally got my facts mixed up on the lovely Swedes. And considering his dad was in several of my favorite movies (yes, Deep Blue Sea is high on the list) I really should have known better. Thanks for the correction!

Episode 4 did nothing for me. More vampires less Jason

After a strong third episode, I can't believe that the show focused on all the things that I find least interesting about the show: the lower rent Wisteria Lane folks, Jason the horndog, Sookie, and all this daytime action. To me, even the scene at the vampire bar lacked the energy, fear, and out of this world scene that was so vividly captured last week. And it's not like the director is a neophyte as he helmed the movie Heathers, so talk about a perfect fit

I am not familiar with the material that the series is based on, so maybe the focus is more on the town and less on the vampires, or maybe it's just around the corner, but if the show can't find a way for me to feel more involved with the humans in a more consistent fashion, I just feel like I am watching yet another show mocking/celebrating the quirks of a small town so it comes off as a little too Dukes of Hazzard. If only we'd seen Lafayette a little more or something. Not even a cool cliffhanger.

I was and still am looking forward to Alexander Skarsgård as I want to look beyond that wig and see what the hot Swede is up to.

FACTOID: Interesting to see another foreigner in the cast as I was clueless that the actor who plays Jason is an Aussie, that Bill is played by a Brit, and the last goes on. It seems that half of CBS's procedurals are also headed by foreign-born actors. I am all for it, but it's surprising as most master the accents so well that you'd never know it. Of course I am not including Canadian-born/New Zealand raised Anna Paquin in this list as her accent keeps getting worse than the war make-up they put on this poor girl. Boyish Charm

Just a comment about Hoyt. I don't think little mister living with his mother is all that sinister. In my eyes he is nothing more then a baby man with a sweet kind heart. Damm it is him, Alan is that twistered.
