Cast Leaked For "Brothers & Sisters: The Early Years"

"Forget it, Bugsy. You'll never get your hands on Ojai Foods!"
When I heard Brothers & Sisters planned a two-part flashback where we would see Kevin, Kitty, and the rest of the Walker siblings as young teens, I immediately thought of that seventies film Bugsy Malone, which had Scott Baio as a singing, dancing mobster and Jody Foster as his flapper gun moll.
Weird, right? But that's the association I made. I guess I'd be more interested in watching child actors pretend to be the adult Walker siblings (possibly with singing and dancing!) than I am in a serious dramatic flashback to the Walker clan's Pasadena childhood.
Still, the casting for this thing has me curious, and E! Online's Watch with Kristin offered up some names on exactly who will be playing who in B&S: The Early Years. We've got the side by side pictures for you so you can compare the teen versions to the adult cast:
Joe Jonas as Tommy
Kay Panabaker as Kitty
Anna Wood as Sarah
Kasey Campbell as Kevin
All in all I'd say they did a reasonable job finding teen actors who resemble their adult counterparts. It's actually a better phyiscal match up than they did with the original casting. I mean, in what universe could Calista Flockhart be biologically related to Rachel Griffiths?
No word on who might be playing Justin, Saul or William Walker. Also no word on whether a young Robert McAllister might show up, but we should probably brace ourselves, since the damn character seems to worm his way into every scene on the show.
Lastly we have the casting for Nora Walker. That part is still up in the air, but Watch with Kristin mentions a few names on the shortlist:
clockwise from top left: Nora Zehetner, Rachel Leigh Cook,
Sally
Field, and Courtney Ford
I'm thinking that Nora Zehetner looks a lot like a young Sally Field, so she might make a believable Nora Walker. But who knows, maybe they'll just give the part to Sally herself. Remember, the last time they did a flashback on Brothers & Sisters (way back in episode 109) they just put Sally in a dark brown wig and filmed her through a shower curtain.
So what do you think of the young Walker cast line up? Any suggestions for Justin, Saul, Holly and the rest?

That's what I want to know! All the Walkers have dark hair, while Kitty has blonde. The only chance she had to somehow be related to any of them was when Rebecca was still their half sister. I think Nora has some explaining to do about Kitty.
Well, it could happen. In
Family resemblance
Holly?
Fat? Just in theory please!
Didn´t the show say several times that Kevin was fat as a child? Of course I know we can´t have non-skinny actors on tv (unless it´s in sit-coms or they are comic relief) so I don´t expect him to be played by anyone weighing more than 150 lbs but why even make up that history and then not go through with it?
Or maybe I´m just being dumb again and don´t realize that the boy in that picture is really fat when it comes to hollywood.
really?
what horrible casting. by the way, kevin has blue eyes and the guy playing young kevin has brown eyes....hmm...i guess he might have to wear blue eyed contacts
...and a jonas brother? yeah, okay then. sheesh, this show is a joke.
B&S has been BS since Robbie left
i can't speak for gay men...
i can't speak for gay men, but my problem with kevin wanting a child is that, as others have mentioned, kevin and scotty barely have time for each other and now they want a baby? add to the fact that kevin seems (or did seem) obsessed with the idea. like, that would be his only reason to go on living or something. it was weird.
i dont think the show is 'straightifying' them. i just think the show rushed into it. most shows do that though when it comes to marriage. they get them married and right off the bat, it's like "oh, children!"
in real life, i dont think most married couples rush into having children.
THE WALKER CLAN
During the current season, "Brothers and Sisters" has repeatedly gone off the track. The worst derailment was Sarah's affair with Sexy French Guy, who was taken in by Nora! But to bring back the Walker siblings as teen-agers is a very bad idea. Whose idea was this one? Ken Olin's? Hopefully, not David Marshall Grant's.
Remember the young Balthazar Getty ("Lord of the Flies", anybody?) - he never looked like Joe Jonas.
Kay Panabaker as the "alienesque" Kitty - no, but an animated adolescent alien girl might do.
Anna Wood as Rachel Griffiths - well, that one is pretty close, I'd say.
Kasey Campbell as Kevin - no, no. no, he has to be fat and unattractive and "gayish".
Justin, who could play Justin - I see him as a young Anthony Michael Hall,
But the Walkers As Teens has all the earmarks of a stunt. And, might I add, a very bad stunt.
Misty water coloured flashba-aaacks..of the way they were...
Do we honestly believe Sally Field is not going to play younger Nora? If we're heading back into Walker history, we're going to need someone familiar to anchor us in the story- otherwise we're going to end up with some Avatar-esque retcon where our (moderately these days) beloved Walkers are suddenly complete strangers to us, swanning around in a shag-piled up Walker Heights while we scramble to work out who's who and why Nora seems to have the same microwave she will have twenty years hence. I suspect Sally Field will be front and centre in this little wander down memory lane..
The real challenge is going to be William- God help the makeup squad who will have to turn Tom Skerrit's face back twenty years- a quick dye job isn't going to cut it this time a la that episode in Season 1. Presumably Sir Skerrit will be appearing? Will we see a younger Saul? Holly seems a definite, if only under Tom Skerrit behind some Ojai fruit crates.
Re: the kids- these all seem passable, and I would suspect they'll drag in some pre-teen rent-a-kid to portray a much younger Justin. Personally, I'm hoping for a an Edward Furlong-like character circa Terminator II, all streetwise guile and sticky fingers in Nora's purse.

Teenage Robert?
Pfft!!! :P
Bring on teenage Luke.. I mean, teenage SCOTTY anyday! :D
Just having him and Kevin glimpsed at each other is enough. Maybe like, Kevin and or one of his sisters walking down a street. Kevin noticing another teenage boy. The boy looked back. They hold gaze for eternity (time around them slows down). Then Kevin is jerked back to reality by one of his sisters to walk faster. He smiled at the boy and runs. The boy smiled back and an off screen voice called "SCOTTY!!", revealing who he was...
Wouldn't that be an awesome scene just to emphasize that Kevin and Scotty belong together? :D
BROTHER'S AND SISTERS
B&S flashback
I admit I'm really looking forward to this episode. I'm loving the show again, and I think this could be fun and interesting, depending on how well it's executed.
As for the young cast, I will refrain from commenting on the Jonas choice (beyond saying I strained my eyes by rolling them too much). I don't think either girl looks particularly like the respective sisters. The boy playing Kevin is a very good match, I think. (They were never going to cast a fat, geeky boy - come on. Either Kevin was exaggerating, or he gained weight later - he's only supposed to be about 14 here, not the age most people relate to their high school experiences.)
For Nora, I hope they go with an unknown (it's hard enough to suspend disbelief with the Tommy casting!) and someone age-appropriate, at least for the flashbacks where she's supposed to have 4 teenage kids.
nice idea, but....
Cute idea, except.... Scotty is at least 6 to 8 years younger than Kevin. If Kevin was 14, then Scotty would at least have been 8 years old... That would wrong on too many levels. ;)

Lol marea you sent me somewhere completely different with this line. It sure would be strange and disturbing to say the least. :)
