“Logo Drama Club” Episode 7: Green Day And The Cast of "American Idiot"

A message from Drama Club Pres. Will Pulos....

Hey Drama Club members! take those safety pins out of your face and stay awhile! This week, Logo Drama Club got totally punk and bumrushed the final sound check for the new Broadway musical, American Idiot.

After my cameraman and I downed some brewskies and rushed the stage (but before we were kindly escorted out of the St. James Theater by two security guards and a gentleman with a taser), we managed to snag some interviews with folks involved with this show based on the music of Green Day.

Our good fortune that Green Day bandmembers just happened to be there and were feeling especially chatty. Who knew their favorite musicals include The Drowsy Chaperone, Phantom of the Opera, and Bye Bye Birdie?

Principal cast member John Gallagher Jr. and director, Michael Mayer, were also on hand to give us the low-down on this new musical dealing with angsty, post-9/11 American youth.
