Idol Tweets: A fake Adam Lambert, an earnest Michael Sarver, more.
For fans trying to keep up with Adam, Kris and the other American Idol finalists on tour, the social networking service Twitter is making it surprisingly easy. This year, many of the singers have been checking in with fans via tweets. Turns out that 9 out of 10 have Twitter accounts, and several of them are very active on the social networking service. But the one Idolist you can't currently find on Twitter? That would be Adam Lambert. He had an account but it was hacked and now someone has been masquerading as him on the service. And doing a passable job of it too. Even hacked and sparsely updated (only 31 posts), Adam's compromised account dwarfs the rest of the Idol finalists' accounts in terms of followers. After the break, we've got Twitter stats for each of the AI finalists, as well as some gay-supportive tweeting by possibly the least likely of Idolists! As of noon, July 22, 2009 here's how this year's Idol Top 10 stack up on Twitter... The hijacked Adam Lambert account has 114,000 (followers) with only 31 updates posted Michael Sarver: (14,000) 963 Matt Giraud: (41,000) 458 Anoop Desai: (39,000) 355 Scott MacIntyre: (17,000) 279 Danny Gokey: (85,000) 249 Allison Iraheta: (31,000) 75 Kris Allen: (64,000) 43 Lil Rounds (3,413) 4 Megan Joy "Caw Caw" Corkrey: (6,500) 3 A few observations. First, Lil and Megan's tweet output is just plain sad. I mean they're being far outpaced by Scott McIntyre even. And he's blind! Kris Allen also seems not fully invested in Twitter as a way to connect with fans. The most avid Tweeter in the group by far is Michael Sarver, who posted an Adam Lambert-supportive tweet responding to the Westboro Baptist Church's protest (of Adam) outside the recent San Jose concert... "Funny how people think it's a good idea to mess with a big Texan and his [American Idol] family." "Adam is just fine, shakes it off and so should we." Sarver went on to elaborate about that post and the anti-gay protesters that prompted it in an interview for The Chapparal:
Surprised by Sarver's obliquely gay-supportive comments? I know I was. Good for him! I guess that means we can forgive him for that unfortunate web video that surfaced during the competition which had him explaining how he and Danny Gokey loved each other, but only in a "Godly way." But no matter how gay supportive he may be, he's still in the doghouse for sporting flip flops to his Motown week meeting with mentor Smokey Robinson! Smokey's a legend, so would it have hurt to wear close-toe shoes?

Minor Detail
Thanks moviechicka
I like Mike
Sarver, that is. He's cuddly.
And, legend or no, Smokey looks like he'd hit it too.
Verified Account
Yeah but...
The "Verified Account" sticker was there before the account got hacked.
He still doesn't have control of it, as far as I know.
Sarver
I was glad to see that Michael Sarver is starting to move away from the homophobic image he created with that "godly way" video.
I saw another interview (can't find the link now) where he talked about getting to know Adam and seeing things differently and changing as a person & Adam talking about getting to know Michael and becoming friends with him as well.
Hope he keeps it up.
I am starting to believe that maybe Sarver means what he says
and that this experience actually has changed his views on some things. At first when he started tweeting about all of this I just thought he was desperate for fans, and for more people to follow him on twitter (he constantly asks for more followers and he keeps talking about Adam knowing that people will love him for that), but the more he talks about it now the more genuine it seems. Like I can almost believe him.
Anyway, Kris continues to say the best things, this is from today:

You may recall the competition between Allen and first runner up Adam Lambert was described by The New York Times in Pat Boone vs. Elvis terms. Kris continues to be viewed as the boy-next-door singer/songwriter who's traipsed around the world doing missionary work, while Adam's the guyliner and leather-sporting rocker who came out as gay in Rolling Stone. Earlier this month, a small, fundamentalist church-affiliated group did an anti-gay demonstration outside one of the "A.I." concerts. The idols -- all 10 finalists of the past season are on the tour -- said later they weren't going to let it bother them. Does Kris feel any pressure to be a role model of one sort or another, as the Christian guy who's pals with the gay guy? "No," he answers flatly. "What would I have to be pressured about? I'm just trying to be me. If people don't want me to be friends with Adam, that's their problem, not mine. Adam's an amazing person, and I'm so happy to call him one of my really good friends."
And also, @adamlambert is still Adam's Twitter, he is trying to get that account back. Apparentley it's taking some time but he said he would bubbeltweet when he was back.
Look at this cute interview from this past friday, w Adam and Kris, as they were getting their cars

Oh and BTW, have you seen any of Adam's performances from the tour? HE IS SO EFFING AMAZING AND HOT!! There are many videos up on YT, most of them w bad sound or quality, but there are many great videos that is worth watching. His voice is just out of this world.
FYI
Somehow I get the impression
