Lisa Kudrow teams with openly gay Don Roos and Dan Bucatisnky on web-based comedy series

Friends alum Lisa Kudrow has a new project with Don Roos and Dan Bucantinsky.  According to the Hollywood Reporter the three are teaming up for an online comedy series in which Kudrow plays a "nutty shrink" who "conducts absurdly abridged three-minute sessions via the Internet that do little to help her clients."  Among the actors playing her patients are Jane Lynch (Best in Show), Bob Balaban (Gosford Park) and Rashida Jones (The Office).

Interestingly, the fifteen episode online series entitled Web Therapy, is being entirely underwritten by a carmaker. Lexus is creating a branded online channel called L Studio (www.LStudio.com) for which Web Therapy will be the flagship series.  I'm not sure exactly how a web comedy series will help to sell luxury cars, but hey I'm not complaining.

Roos and Bucatinsky are an openly gay couple and have worked with Kudrow before. Roos directed her in his films The Opposite of Sex and Happy Endings, and both Bucatinsky and Roos previously teamed with Kudrow on her HBO comedy series, The Comeback

Web Therapy will be written and produced by Bucatisnky and Kudrow, with Roos directing.

I'm very excited about this project because I was a huge fan of the The Comeback.  Does anyone remember "Mickey," the gay hairdresser/assistant from that show?  If Web Therapy gives us a comic creation even half as good I'll be thrilled.

After the break a clip from the first episode of The Comeback. Here's hoping Web Therapy is as amusing.
