ATWT video clip update: We love a man in uniform.
Today on As the World Turns, Noah receives word from the college dean that he's been accepted into Oakdale U's honors film program. (No doubt the dean was impressed with all those "US Tube" videos Noah has been posting lately.) Later, the boys attend the funeral for Casey's estranged brother Adam, where the mysterious Sergeant Riley (curiously sporting corporal's stripes) shows up to deliver a heartfelt eulogy. Luke and Noah chat him up later, but their conversation is cut short when they ask him if he knew Noah's father, Colonel Mayer. Could there be a connection? I don't know, but it sure seems suspect to me. Check out today's Nuke clip after the break and draw your own conclusion.

Cute indeed
I haven't seen the episode yet, but Sgt. Riley is indeed CUTE! I'm happy to hear he'll be staying around for awhile.
I really liked the guy who played Adam a few years ago when he was just starting college. Very likable, and cute as well. I was not happy when they shipped him off to California or somewhere. I also recall that he was apparently killed and buried a couple of years ago, but somehow wasn't dead and crawled out of the grave. (I was watching sporadically at the time.)
Someone speculated that Sgt. Riley could actually be Adam with plastic surgery, but that seems a bit far-fetched. I hope they give him something interesting to do.
It's a soap opera
You commented that "...seems a bit far-fetched..." about it being Adam. Well this is soap opera so ANYTHING is possible <haha>
He is very cute, but could we be seeing some one to be a wedge between Luke and Noah though?
Just thinking outloud
You beat me too it
You beat me too it. I was going to say the fact that its far-fetched practically makes it more possible on a soap. We do know both Adam and the cute army guy like milk and cookies ...
If he is Adam, he probaly wont drive a wedge between them though.
Hmmmm
Noah's brother anyone??
Col Klink's long lost love child???
Maybe half brother
The Col could be his father, and this will give Noah the family he wants without the need to bear his pshycho father.
The obvious thing is that Riley hides something
NUKE WAS GOOD THIS WEEK
I really loved the episode today. I loved the way the memorial service was shot and the starkness of the scenes with Margo and Thom
I was actually glad there wasn't a ton of folks there because I feel like that is very realistic. If he was as evil as folks say, I could totally see Margo not wanting to have a parade of peopel wronged by Adam at the funeral. I don't know the other characters beyond who's been on screen since summer 2007 so I don't have the whole background but this service felt right.
Sometime folks just want to have an intimate, quiet thing when it comes to death. I thought it was perfect.
I loved the graceful way Van and Jake move around each other a in this episode. It was like their movements were choreographed.
Jakes hair was 87 kinds of awesome. Fully with slight curls. So much better than the military hair he used to rock.
The new storyline sounds like something that not only makes sense but could be really moving to watch.
I've always thought Noah needs to crack open some of that hurt and dissapointment and anger and shame regarding his father and try to make peace with his past and the ramifications of both of his parents actions. Just talking about his father makes him so tense and sputtery.
I don't think the trauma of everything that has happened to Noah since he made it to Oakdale has ever fully been investigated. Not just the Col but with his mother as well.
I thought Luke's suggestion was a perfect one. Could be a painful but cathartic experience to deal with his father demons.
I love how passionate Noah is about film and the fact that the writers are remembering that he exists to do more than just follow Luke around and exist in Luke's orbit.
"Heterosexuality is not normal, it's just common." (Dorothy Parker)Riley intrigues me. I'm kind of hoping he's related to Noah and really hoping he's not evil (or Adam in disguise or some crazy thing)
Overall I was pleased . Even Ally and Casey were tolerable as a couple.
Excited to see what happens next.
