Bill Maher and director
Larry Charles (
Borat) take a hard look at organized religion in their new documentary
Religulous. And if there's any doubt about their point of view, note the title of the film is a mash up of the words "religion" and "ridiculous."
Religulous opens in theatres October 3rd, but we've got an exclusive preview clip for you below that you won't find anywhere else. In it, Maher sits down for a chat with an "ex-gay." As you can imagine, the comedian comes away less than convinced about the "ex-" part.

Go Bill
Yay!
"I don't believe ANYONE is
"I don't believe ANYONE is gay..."
What a bizarre thing to say. I mean, it's like saying "I don't believe the sky is blue" or "I don't believe in the sense of touch..."
All those gay people in the world? Not really there. Just a figment of our collective imagination...
it's just sad.
After they hugged and Bill quipped about the man being aroused, he answered "No, sorry, I can't do that", which is quite sad. It's not that he's not gay, it's that he feels he's not allowed to be.
There are not ex gays.
There are not ex gays. There are bisexuals who felt prominently more attracted to men, and that for cultural issues –dumb issues- decided to exacerbate their “straight” side. So the desire is still there. And we know –we all know- some of then even still do their things. Their forbidden things. And later they pray and swear that it won’t happen again, to themselves.
But really, real gays that turns into straight? Only in utopia. Or dystopia to paint it in the right light.
