Is Tori Spelling the Final Nail in the "One Life to Live" Coffin?

Oh lordy. Tori Spelling looks to be getting her own ABC talk show. The thing is still in the early stages of development, but the concept is a daytime talker hosted by Tori and her "gay BFF". According to the L.A. Times, the network is looking for a Will & Grace-type vibe between Tori and her as yet uncast gay co-host. Could be interesting but "gay best friend forever" could be a bit of a misnomer if Tori has never even met this person before. What about the guncles?

Now just because this show is in development doesn't mean it will ever be produced. But if it is, ABC is going to need an hour in their daytime lineup for it. The big question becomes: Where does that hour come from?

Many ABC affiliates currently air Oprah in late afternoons. So when Oprah Winfrey moves to cable next fall, in theory ABC could ask for that hour of airtime back to air Tori's show. But word is that many of those affiliates were already planning on using that afternoon hour for local programming and aren't likely to want to give it up.

A more likely scenario has Tori's talker replacing one of ABC's existing daytime shows. The four current ABC daytime productions are The View, All My Chilrdren, General Hospital, and the most ratings-challenged of the bunch... One Life to Live.

So Tori really could be the final nail in OLTL's coffin.

What say AfterElton.com readers? Are you looking forward to a Tori Spelling helmed talk show? Would you be sad if it replaced One Life to Live?  And about this planned Will & Grace type vibe – who would be your fantasy casting for Tori's gay BFF?
