AfterElton Briefs: "True Blood" News, "Glee" Goes On Tour, "Playgirl" Bags Another Boy, and more

Coachella 2010

Following this assortment of carefully-selected news items, interested readers can find a refreshing pic of a hot man in underwear. Yes, we're serious.

  • Above, you can see the official lineup for the Coachella Music Festival 2010. I'm too old and uncool to know all the bands on there, but with Grizzly Bear, fronted by the out Ed Droste, and Grace Jones appearing Friday, that may be the day to attend.
  • Daniel Nardicio, the nightclub promoter responsible for overhyping Levi Johnston's Playgirl appearance, is crowing that he's booked now-21 year-old Kirk McCambley to pose for the magazine now. Iris Robinson is a notorious homophobe, and he's the good looking hetero boytoy that torpedoed a conservative government. Sounds like a pattern for Playgirl to me.
This one is more twink than redneck.
  • Today, in overstated True Blood news, the Spurf™ says that thanks to Bill donating blood to save Sam last year, they'll have "an erotic connection." Yeah, I doubt it's as deep than my erotic connection with Sam.
  • In much more plausible and interesting True Blood news, Alfre Woodard tells TV Guide that her character, Lafayette's mother, is "nuts. She's not going to be a person that the audience loves. She's not very accepting of Lafayette, which is fun to play."

  • At the very end of an interview about his new Terminator comic, Zack Whedon, serious or not, dropped the title Dr. Horrible 2: Carnal Indulgences

  • Above you can see out music sensation Matt Morris being introduced to the world by his old Mouseketeer buddy Justin Timberlake, who signed him to his label. Below, you can hear him perform his single "Bloodline" with Justin and Charlie Sexton. And you can read about his story over at NewNowNext. You're going to be seeing a lot of him, methinks.

  • Boyzone has released "Gave It All Away" as a tribute to Stephen Gately who died last year while on holiday with his husband. The video is a beautiful tribute to Stephen, and everyone should go watch it repeatedly.
  • Twitter has announced, via nearly every cast member's account, that Glee is touring this summer. Details are to be announced. Lea Michele's tweet hit me first.
She's more of a tease than Quinn was with Finn.
  • I have no idea what to say about this video game. It's called Muscle March, it's WiiWare, which means it's downloadable. I have some leftover Wii Points I may have to use. Would heterosexuals play this? Would they need to say "No Homo"? From the publisher:

Muscle March is a quirky Japanese action game stuffed full of macho bodybuilders. The all mighty protein powder has been stolen so it’s up to Tony and his muscle-bound crew to catch the thieves. Choose from a variety of perfectly molded superstars and bring these terrible villains to justice. As each thief attempts their escape, they will smash through walls while making a variety of poses. You must match these poses to fit through the holes and catch up to the thieves. The protein powder will be yours again!

Flex your muscles by yourself or with up to four friends in turn based macho excitement.

Posing for a few minutes not enough? Enjoy Endless Rush mode until your muscles bulge and explode!

The all new Polar-Bear-in-a-Swimsuit Engine will take bodybuilding to a level beyond your imagination!

  • Eyes Wide Open, an Israeli film about a forbidden love affair between two religious men in Tel Aviv, is playing January 19-24 at the New York Jewish Film Festival.
