Dolly's rainbow pride

Following this assortment of carefully-selected news items, interested readers can find a refreshing pic of a hot man in underwear. Yes, we're serious.

  • Dolly Parton did a wide ranging interview with The Guardian in the UK, and it covered everything from her plastic surgery, to her stance on gay rights, which turned out to be the only politics she'd discuss. I also didn't know Dollywood had Gay Days.
I’m not a poster child for gay rights by any means. But I have so many gay and lesbian friends and they’re just so pure and so true. That’s not politics to me. That’s human rights.
  • How I Met Your Mother creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas just signed a new deal to keep them at 20th Century Fox and HIMYM for at least three more years, and raking in an eight-figure sum for doing it. That will buy Neil Patrick Harris a lot of elaborate musical numbers.
  • Friday we showed you the trailer of the new Ryan Reynolds movie Buried, that takes place entirely inside a box buried in the desert. Today, we can tell you the movie sold to Lionsgate for $3.2 million in Sundance's second deal.
  • James Mitchell, who played Palmer Cortlandt on All My Children for 30 years, has passed away at the age of 89. Our condolences got out to his family, and his longtime partner Albert Wolsky.
I didn't know the name. I do know the face.

  • Rising European star Timo Descamps has been cast as Shane Lyons in Judas Kiss an amoral college student willing to do anything to win the love of a film student.
He's too adorable to play evil, isn't he?

  • Both cast albums from Glee have been certified gold, selling more than 500,000 copies each, and over four million individual songs have been sold digitally. Sounds like enough to pay for several boyfriends for Kurt. In honor of this accomplishment, let's relive the mattress commercial, shall we?

  • Gay adjacent/friendly/sensible whatever Supernatural has been renewed for a sixth season. I know it's not explicitly gay, but we watch a lot of crud for you guys, so let us have this one!
  • Broadway veteran and Tony winner Brian Stokes Mitchell is set for a turn on Ugly Betty as Wilhelmina's ex. The twist? He's very blue collar, a working man.
  • The Guardian has a great set of Super Bowl commercials that were rejected for having a "political message." in the past, including a UCC ad that was pro-gay. Why aren't U.S. papers covering the Focus on the Family/Tim Tebow buy?
