AfterElton Briefs: Justin Timberlake In Drag (again), Lady GaGa Conspiracy, Stripping Ruggers, and more.

Did Harvard supply the costume, or did Justin have his own?

Following this assortment of carefully-selected news items, interested readers can find a refreshing pic of a hot man in underwear. Yes, we're serious.

  • Above you can see Justin Timberlake as he accepts his Golden Hasty Pudding Pot at Harvard this past weekend. There were drag queens dressed as his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears, and by the end he was in pink high heels.
  • Just as ChristWire.org is satire done so well that many can't tell it's satire, I don't know if this piece about Lady GaGa being a puppet of the Illuminati is serious or a joke. When you start out with crazy conspiracy theories that the Illuminati are controlling the world, this isn't much of a leap.
  • There's been a lot of chatter about Tom Ford's cinematic interpretation of the Christopher Isherwood novel A Single Man. I may even done some of the chattering. But since the author isn't available, who might best know if the movie was true to the intent? How about Don Bachardy, the author's lover?
  • Adidas continues expanding their marketing to women, or more likely to gay men. with what might be either or an homage to the Puma Stock Index, or the Wrangler campaign from last week. But thanks to the tennis shoe company, you can make rugby players swap jerseys. I bet it's more fun if you know the players. Or are even sure which sport they play. I'm guessing it's not cricket.
Just two of the hot ruggers that follow your commands. Well, some of them.
  • We've previous covered Ben Whishaw in Out before as well as his costar in The Pride, Hugh Dancy. Now Ben's work takes center stage with the New York Times.
  • Rep. John Murtha (D-PA) has passed away from complications due to gallbladder surgery at the age of 77. Rep. Murtha was a tireless advocate of GLBT rights, including ENDA. He was also a major critic of the Iraq war. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family.
  • Vodafone, the European communications giant, tweeted out “VodafoneUK is fed up with dirty homo’s (sic) and is going after beaver” from their official account to their 8,000 followers over the weekend. It's being described as a rogue employee and not a hack of their account. Vodafone has been tweeting apologies to each of their outraged followers. It might take a while.
  • Following all applicable Minogue-gay laws, I have to report that Dannii is filming a reality show about her pregnancy with her hottie boyfriend Kris Smith. Unfortunately, the conception is not part of it. Maybe she should ask around about how good reality shows are for relationships?
Dannii and Kris - oh, I trimmed off Dannii? Shame!
  • Rod 2.0 has a summary from the new Attitude about four gay soldiers serving in the British Army. It says what everyone except Senator John McCain knows, but he does look good in his uniform.
  • A series of audio interviews allows young activists to get to know Bayard Rustin, the gay man who stood beside Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. throughout the civil rights struggles in the 1960s.
This is the picture Rustin.org sent Logo for publicity a couple years ago.
  • It's gay-adjacent, so I'm including the interview New York Mag has with Megan Mullally and her bearish husband Nick Offerman. It's worth it just for the picture at the top of the story.
  • Out writer/producer Greg Berlanti's pilot No Ordinary Family for ABC got a huge leg up when it signed Michael Chiklis to star. Chiklis will play the patriarch of a family with special powers. People are calling it The Incredibles, but with real people.I  just hope it doesn't distract Berlanti from the fixes that Brothers & Sisters still needs.
  • BioWare's founder Ray Muzyka offers up some explanation as to why there are no same-sex options in Mass Effect 2 like there are in Dragon Age 2. His reasons are so logically consistent they almost sound like he came to them after the fact.
