AfterElton Briefs: "Phillip Morris" Lives, "Glee" Gets the Cover, Adam Lambert Explains Glam, plus Ryan Reynolds In Tights!

Chris Colfer pitches Kurtain Magazine, GQ bests CNN, Modern Family is full of equals, and Ellen gives us Butt Drugs.

Matthew Morrison dressed in white...

  • The newest TV Guide Magazine has the cast of Glee on the cover in their Madonna-finest. Oddly, a local magazine called Prerogative has Jayma Mays on the cover as she grew up just over the Virginia border in Grundy.

  • I'd ordinarily save this for Meme, but it was too funny to hold in reserve. The Ellen DeGeneres Show had funny commercials today, and while the first one is hysterical (and supposedly real), the fireman for DStv is my favorite.

  • Remember that hot Attitude cover with Danny Young last week? This entirely NSFW link shows you the rest of the photo spread.
Honestly, it wouldn't bother me at all. I wouldn't be shocked or anything. Marc even once asked me, 'What if one of the babies is gay?' I said, 'Who cares?' And he was like, 'Yeah, I know. Who cares?' You just love your kids and want them to be happy.
  • As the biggest "name" star on Modern Family, Ed O'Neill's decision to submit his Emmy reel in the Best Supporting Actor category with all of his ensemble castmates doing the same may cut down on the wins, but it's a very cool thing for the birthday boy to do.
America's unconventional loving father turns 64 today.
  • Chris Colfer remains a top interview for Glee, having recently hired two publicists just tokeep up with the requests. It's a shame they all ask him the same questions. But this one asked how he wants Kurt to end up, which was fresh:
I'm trying to convince the writers that Kurt needs to become the editor of Kurtain magazine, which would basically be a ripoff of Vogue. But that would be in the like 24th season
  • In yet more Glee news, Finn just posted an interview with Kurt on Twitter for the fictional Lima Star. Audio isn't perfect, but Kurt is.

  • I don't really have a gay angle for Paper Man. Except that Jeff Daniels stars as a failed novelist with an imaginary friend named Captain Excellent played by Ryan Reynolds in tights with bleached hair. Oh, and Lisa Kudrow is in it. But Ryan Reynolds in tights! How did I not know about this until now, when it opens April 23?

  • GQ proves it's a much more reliable media outlet than CNN as it sits down with former CNN anchor Thomas Roberts to discuss the Catholic Church's pedophilia problems. Following best practices by all medical and psychological associations, they make sure to cover fact that homosexuality isn't caused by abuse:
So you came out to your family when you were 27. Later, when you were 33 you began opening up about the abuse. Some people see a causal relationship between abuse and sexuality. Did you worry that people would try and draw those lines?
For me these are two very separate, distinct issues, and I don’t want them to ever be confused. No one ever asks a woman who was abused as a young girl if she grew up and decided she was straight. I had the complete love and support of my family though, and that was most important thing.

And today's Briefs are brought to you by...
