  • Wednesday evening the Television Academy Honors ceremony will take place. It's basically the awards for any Very Special Episode of a series. Glee is up for "Wheels."
  • Today's Stories from the Frontlines features Former Petty Officer Joseph Rocha, who you may recall was in a specialty canine program where his trainers locked in him a dog cage naked and forced him to perform simulated oral sex on another trainee due to his perceived homosexuality. He couldn't report the abuse for fear of Don't Ask, Don't tell.

  • In an interview with The Advocate, Rep. Patrick Murphy respectfully disagrees with Secretary Gates asking to delay the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell. As evidence of the detriment to our military readiness he offers this:
I got an e-mail from a company commander in Afghanistan, who his partner broke up with him and he had no one to turn to — he couldn’t go to his chaplain, he couldn’t go to his superiors or to his battle buddies, and here the guy is leading 200 of our best troops over in Afghanistan in a very tough fight. And he cradled a 9mm weapon in his hand because he kept thinking he had nowhere to turn to and he was about to blow his brains out.
  • I haven't had time for an exhaustive look at Drama Desk nominations, but in Outstanding Actor in a Musical I see Cheyenne Jackson for Finnian's Rainbow, Nathan Lane for The Addams Family, Douglas Hodge for La Cage Aux Folles and Bobby Steggert for Yank!
