AfterElton Briefs: Who Is Adam Lambert's Type, a "Sordid Lives" Marathon, and Get Ready for "RuPaul's Drag U"
Plus Freddie Mercury, a point about The Hard Times of RJ Berger, and at this point, Let's Just Be Friends, Phillip Morris.
Adam Lambert on the Pride issue of L.A.'s Frontiers
- In his interview with Frontiers, Adam Lambert was asked the very inappropriate question of "Who'd you rather, Ryan Seacrest or Simon Cowell?" Adam is a pro with inappropriate questions though.
Ew. Neither one of them is my type at all. They’re both too old for me. I like pretty boys in their early-to-mid twenties. Make sure you print that.
- Did you ever wonder what Broadway hunk Nick Adams looked like at 16-years-old? Now you can find out, and it looks like you can check out several other stars as well.
- In honor of Rue McClanahan, Logo TV plans a marathon of Sordid Lives: The Series Sunday night, 8pm-2am. Fans are encouraged to tweet their favorite Rue memories to @LogoTV, and they will be displaying them onscreen from now until the end of the marathon.
She had some classic moments in this show.

- The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has written a letter opposing the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), saying that while they oppose discrimination, gays violated their specific teaching, so they have no choice but to keep discriminating. Just like they do for adultery, or divorce - oh, wait!
- Sunday, June 6th, Freddie Mercury: The Untold Story (2010 Director's Cut) will screen in San Francisco at the new VIZ Cinema.
- Tiwonge Chimbalanga and Steven Monjeza, recently pardoned in Malawi, held a brief press conference praising their president and calling him a "caring father."
- In case you haven't seen it, The Onion New Network delivers the sad story of The Incredibly Sexy Firefighter Who Died In the Steamy Blaze.
- Via Joe.My.God, we find The Good Men Project, a new online men's magazine catering to all audiences. They have a funny piece up right now from openly gay author Benoit Denizet-Lewis called "When Your Stepmom Looks Like Your Mom."
- Our never ending nightmare to be allowed to watch I Love You Phillip Morris in the U.S. just hit another snag, as the domestic distributor is being accused of the old "what do you mean you didn't get the $3 million check? I mailed it last Tuesday" game.
- I have not had the chance to watch this new teaser for RuPaul's Drag U, but it's labeled as a "Supertease" and it's RuPaul, so you just know it's fabulous.
- While speaking to troops at Ft. Bragg in North Carolina, a soldier finally brought up Don't Ask Don't Tell with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral McMullen without him bringing it up himself. While he did stress the need for the "subjective" input from the troops, he was solid about repeal.
The law needs to change. Fundamentally, it’s an issue of our values. It’s very critical for us as an institution, and I’m hard-pressed not to support policy and a law that forces individuals to come in and lie everyday.
- On Sunday night after the MTV Movie Awards, the network launches their new series, The Hard Times of RJ Berger. This pre-review doesn't deal with the issues that make me squirm about the series, but brings up the valid point that a high school spaz will not be made popular simply by being well endowed. High school girls are unlikely to care for such a gift. But maybe it's just a premise for a teenage angst comedy, based on this clip.
