Afternoon Meme: Johnny Weir Sparkles Like a Queen, Giant George is Tops, Jackson Rathbone Talks Fighting and Twilight, and more!

Johnny Weir doesn't let homophobic sportscasters get him down, he just applies more glitter. Here he is with pal Dorothy Hammill telling Access Hollywood exactly what he thinks of the sportscasters' comments:
We all saw Tiger Woods apologize to us for something that was none of our business. But his decision to not return to golf at this time has real, measurable impact to the economy, which is really hurting. So the PGA has hatched a secret plan to make golf exciting to watch, regardless of who plays:
Greenscreening is all the rage in sci fi and fantasy films, but I had no idea that shows like Ugly Betty, Monk, and Greys Anatomy made such extensive use of the technique. This official screener reel for special effect house Stargate Studios shows how little you can trust your television:
Back on Christmas Eve, we visited with George, the dog who was vying to become the largest dog ever in the Guinness Book of World Records. At the time he wasn't certified, and I got accused of using manipulated photos. Well, here's the newly-certified George on video – which I think we can trust, despite the clip I just showed you.
Twitter too much for you? Then try the latest in nano-blogging: Flutter, which only allows 26 characters and comes with some really cool accessories.
Jackson Rathbone sits down and talks about the fight training he did for Avatar: The Last Airbender, and how he was able to draw on that training for Twilight: Eclipse to make the film better. I see a bunch of new Avatar footage here, but I still don't see any of the trademark humor.
Jon Stewart was on fire last night, taking aim at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) over the weekend. In this first segment he takes on a bit of everybody but wraps up by slapping the conservatives around with GOProud, the gay conservative group whose attendance nearly destroyed the conference. It's masterful.

There's no gay angle to this second clip from The Daily Show, but I love watching Glenn Beck for the comedy of it all. And the final line from Stewart is the Atomic Piledriver move of the whole show.

Indulge my personal agenda for a moment – I completely missed this video from my local news because I was so busy with frivolous pop culture items. Today is the Fairness West Virginia Lobby Day in the state that I call home. We're fighting to keep an anti-gay state constitutional amendment off the ballot. Meanwhile, this lesbian couple is being turned away from renting an apartment. We've got issues, folks. If you live here in West Virginia, get on the phone.
To lighten the mood, sexy man Matt Bomer went to the Olympics coutesy of USANetworks. He then brought Bonnie Hunt a pair of mittens. And that's not a euphemism. He also shared a lot of photos he took in Vancouver. Bonnie had a few photos of him in return, except hers had been through Photoshop, and they had a gay angle – watch him laugh.
Lio is an animated series. This one is titled "Love Hurts", and is why I'm single. Well, that and my terrible personality. And the thunderous snoring.
Cartoons from The New Yorker normally just make me feel like someone from West Virginia. Which isn't bad, because I am someone from West Virginia. This one called Shy Bladder had a cute twist ending.
Alice in Wonderland released a new clip called "Clothe This Girl" which is the first time I can recall a clip not making the Mad Hatter the focus. I'm hoping for a Carol Burnett moment.
I stumbled across this Real World: DC Backstage Pass of our newly crowned Gay of the Week Mike Manning talking about his open relationship with Tanner, and how much the support of his mother means to him.
The Hardy Boys were one of the last elements of my childhood that hadn't been destroyed by Hollywood. FunnyOrDie.com managed to smear that last little piece of innocence with The Ed Hardy Boyz and the Case of the Missing Tramp Stamp.
