Afternoon Meme: Adorkable Evans, Incredible "Mission," SyFy Gets Funny, and Tina Fey Can Do Someone Other Than Sexy Sarah
Tron: Legacy goes viral, Nic Cage does crazy, we have Mixed Emotions, and Sir Elton plays to his past.

I have concerns about the Easter Bunny with this dude hanging out in my yard.
First, a clarification. This morning I referenced director Stephen Daldry and cited his incomple
te
Wikipedia biography. I’ve since been provided with additional information, and Stephen does still
identify as gay. My apologies to Mr. Daldry.
You want to know how to make me interested in Mission: Impossible 73 or whatever they’re making? Brad Bird, most famous for making The Incredibles at Pixar. The plotlines of Mission: Impossible aren’t any less fantastic than The Incredibles, so maybe he can make it fun again.
Derrick Martin, the Georgia teen taking his boyfriend to the prom was the subject of a small protest by his fellow students. Like the boy’s parents, who kicked him out, the students say they don’t have an issue with Derrick being gay, they have an issue with the media attention his gay prom date has brought the small town. While I applaud Derrick, I’m starting to feel a bit guilty as part of the media.
It’s been a while since I tipped my hat to all the
grammarians out there. Did you know there is literally a
site out there dedicated to literally track the abuse of the word “literally”
in the media?
I’m not a huge fan of SyFy straying too far outside their genre – the thought of their cooking show really bugs me. But a comedy script, about two former sci-fi stars down on their luck, produced by Adam Sandler’s company, and written by Jonathan Silverman (Weekend at Bernies’) and Michael Rosenbaum (Smallville) sounds like something I’d watch.
Congratulations, New Yorkers, you own a skyscraper that the city government will be paying a private company to rent office space in. Or at least that’s how I read this deal for the old WTC site. New York City real estate deals are more confusing than New York state politics.
If you want to touch your toes, stand on a tennis ball.
Once you fall and break your spine, touching your toes should be no problem.

Every time I hear about government being broken, I remind myself that they do a lot of things right that we never think about, and it’s mostly the silly stuff that we hear about. But the Government Accountability Office finding out that a gasoline powered alarm clock could be Energy Star certified does give me doubts.
Sir Elton John will headline an Indian concert in memory of Ryan White, the teenager he befriended who died of AIDS in 1990 and became the face of the disease. Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation and the Indianapolis Children’s Museum.
Yesterday we
mentioned GLAAD had a call-to-action concerning
the Tribeca Film Festival screening of Ticked-Off
Trannies with Knives. Joe.My.God points us to responses from both Tribeca Film
Festival and Movieline.com which take issue with GLAAD’s objections.
Next has a fascinating article about the New York City FTM club scene.
We had reported Megan Mullally had abruptly exited the Terrance McNally revival of Lips Together, Teeth Apart. Originally it had been hoped to recast the role, but now comes news that the show will instead fold.
First, we have a couple of birthdays. Out cutie-pie T.R. Knight turns 37 today.
And getting a rainbow cupcake just because I think he's been part of a lot of gay geek's lives for a long time, as the Vulcan-amongst-humans, Leonard Nimoy turns 79.
Live long and prosper indeed.
This is the most amazing thing I've ever seen in my life, and it's real: Sprayable, metallic food coloring. If I ever hosted fancy brunches, I'd totally use this on all the produce.
Pomegranate would look amazing.
This product is just a concept, selling alcoholic drinks based on emotion sounds risky. Who wants to drink "Anger" anyhow? But I do love the packaging, and think it would be great to serve at a BBQ.
Maybe we can change the "Anger" to "Horny?"
They're so cute at this age.
And despite this one's protestations of innocence, I'm not so sure.
There are a bunch of posters for The Losers out, included a nerded up Chris Evans.
And even though I've run it before, here's the trailer for The Losers. Looking at a nerded-up Chris Evans pantsless in an elevator never gets old. And really, who doesn't enjoy looking at Jeffery Dean Morgan?
Tron: Legacy doesn't come out until December, but the marketing campaign is deeply underway. Here we see Bruce Boxleitner in character as Alan Bradley doing an interview piece about ENCOM and a big announcement. I really want to be excited about this movie, but I've been burned so many times.
I'm not a huge fan of Tracy Morgan. I didn't think he was funny before all those people walked out of his comedy show in New York City over all the homophobic jokes. And while I know Tina Fey was mocking him with love, I choose to think it was meanspirited.
I know I'm going to regret saying this, but the international trailer for The Sorceror's Apprentice actually makes me want to see the movie. Nic Cage does crazy pretty well, and the special effects look amazing. The scene with the car rolling blew my mind. The scene with the dragon and the hallway was done better on Phineas & Ferb.
