Stewart Presents "Gaywatch: Virginia," But That's Not What Has Colbert Wagging His Finger

Red and blue make ... rainbows?
I don't understand why politicians don't understand that videotape exists. They say one thing, and mere months later do the exact opposite, and Jon Stewart wins another Emmy Award for a clip show. Clips shows used to be filler on television, now they're political theater.
When Governor Bob McDonnell was campaigning, we knew he was anti-gay, as was his likely Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli. We did however take heart that he would carry forward the tradition of signing a nondiscrimination order that included sexual orientation. Because he said he would. When he didn't, it hurt.
But he and Attorney General Cuccinelli have taken it a step further and are requiring the state's universities that have policies outlawing discrimination to rescind those policies. He's only enforcing the law. And we thought the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing in government. Enter Stewart.

Continuing the gay old night on The Colbert Report, Stephen had a double header of classics with "The Word," and then "Tip of My Hat, Wag of the Finger." We're focusing on his finger wagging, directed at the Droopy Dog of the Senate, Joe Liberman. Senator Liberman introduced legislation to repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell, which prevents gays and lesbians from serving openly in the military. This has disturbed Stephen Colbert's delicate sensibilities.
This bit combines so many great things into the two minutes or so it runs. Stephen cries like Glenn Beck, scolds like Bill O'Reilly, and uses Venn diagrams, which always make me happy. And why he doesn't have the Weather Girls as the house band at this point, I have no idea.

It's been a while since our friends gave us a gay bedtime story, and I was glad to have them back. What did you think?
