Zapato! Bad dog!!!!

Having trouble keeping up with the many gay boys cropping up on U.S. daytime soaps these days? We're here to help with our new regular feature Daytime Drive By, where we give you the rundown on Luke, Rafe, Fish and all the rest of the gay gang. Look for DDB whenever we don't have a liveblog and something gay happens on daytime television that you just have to know about!

The life of The Great Victor Newman (TGVN) is getting complicated, what with Adam not even needing to gaslight Ashley anymore for her to see Sabrina. And Mary Jane is on the loose. Buckle up, this could get bumpy.

Genoa City

So, TGVN and Ashley start fighting over him being a controlling manipulative jerk. He tries to make nice but she says she’s taking Zapato (doggie at the top) for a walk.

Then we see Mary Jane entering the potting shed looking like hell, calling “Kitty, Kitty where are you. Come here Kitty.” As if she’s actually expecting the cat to brush up against her leg and purr. Oh, how we’ve missed you, Mary Jane.

Just as Mary Jane is coming to grips that Kitty isn’t going to come Zapato enters, and drops Kitty’s tail at her feet like a present. And here I didn’t think Kitty would come when called!

Mary Jane doesn't find having a cat by the tail comforting.

In a bit that amuses me to no end, but was probably an accident, Mary Jane doesn’t notice he’s dropped the tail at her feet, and the dog has to pick it up and hand it to her so she notices.

Once Ashley calls Zapato to come to her from backstage, out he runs. I see rat poison in someone’s future!

Cottonelle puppies have dangerous showbiz lives when they get older.

Nikki and Noah are sitting in Crimson Lights, and Noah busts out this line about relationships: “What is it with you grownups? Back and forth like a tennis match – I need a score card.” Me too, kid.

Another side note, The Great Victor Newman (TGVN) is in full force today, whispering threats at Billy, and telling him what he thinks of all Abbott men.

While Billy and Jack drink their troubles away at the dive bar, Mary Jane comes in, unnoticed, and pours a Scotch and drugs it.

Ashley comes back into the living room and acts all bitchy towards Victor, but results in a rather odd exchange.

Victor inquires to Zapato’s whereabouts, and Ashley says, “He’s outside, rolling around in the grass.” Victor then responds “Well, it’s a perfect day for it, isn’t it.” Which leads to this bizarre image in my head, and I can’t stop giggling:

Victor still seems threatening, even like this.

Billy grabs the unattended beer and drugged Scotch off the bar (is he insane?) and Jack drinks it and grimaces as heavy metal music plays and Mary Jane looks on.

We really don’t know what day what is going to happen in Genoa City this week, so we’ll probably camp out here all week. As we wait for this house of cards to fall, consider:

  • As bad as Victor's security is on the ranch, did Heather train his guards?
  • Where's Adam hiding, and who's he sleeping with?
  • Phillip has another "shocking secret" this week, which should further endear him to me. What do we think it is?
