Watch Puck From "Glee" Serenade the Class

Puck(erman) pays tribute to s Jewish musical icon.

We've seen Mr. Schuester Bust-A-Move, but did you know that Puck played the guitar? Personally, I think he learned it so he could score more action, but maybe there's a sensitive soul in there.

As we learned this past week, Puck is a minority, and the "Puck" isn't about a trickster god, but short for Puckerman. And true to his Jewish roots, when Will enters the rehearsal space and asks for ideas, Puck pipes up that he's been working on a tribute to that "great Jewish musical icon, Neil Diamond. Take a listen.

I'll admit - I was a bit taken aback by Puck's voice. It's oddly suited to the song, and his delivery is sure to make all the girls (and some of the guys) swoon. Plus, I'm thrilled to see some of the other kids get a chance to be front-and-center, because while I love Lea Michele, I'd like to think the rest of the cast was more than window dressing. This is a melodic step in the right direction.

"Sweet Caroline" is from the "Mash-up" episode airing October 21.
