Liveblogging "The Young and The Restless": "Phillip Explains It All"

Phillip finally gets his chance to explain his life-after-death to his son Chance. So will all be forgiven once he understands what his dad was going through?
Join us for the fun below, and refresh often for breaking updates.
12:25PM EST: This is my first time - please be gentle.
12:35PM EST: OK, we started off with the "I didn't do it gang" but cut away mid-sentence to Nick and Phyllis watching their wedding video, which we all know leads to divorce. Or is it remarriage? Or are they still married? I can't remember. Also, Jack in spandex (not bad for his age) gets caught entering his secret hotel room where he protects Sharon from crazy Mary Jane. More Newman board boredom from yesterday, then JT in a t-shirt and jeans! Talking to Mac about the security system she wants for the bar since he's unemployed now. He walks backstage and Nina enters to talk to Mac about the screenplay that originally brought her to town.
That's the entire rest of the cast - where's my gays?
Ahh! Chance walks into Crimson Lights, and Phillip greets him more like a blind date than a son. He tells him to order the lobster. No, seriously, it's on him! Chance wants to know why he couldn't live his life in Genoa City, and Phillip decides to drop the gay bomb right out of the gate.
12:46PM EST: Chance doesn't get why being gay means faking your own death. Wonder if he's worried he has to try? Phillip says "There wasn't a whole lot of gay pride back then." Yeah, especially from him. Chance basically calls him a coward for deserting his family.
Nina admits that Hollywood thinks the Chancellor story is more interesting with the back-from-the-dead-gay Phillip, but she's not so sure about exploiting her own life. Other people's lives, no problem.
12:55PM EST: Ohh! I want a tiara, everybody else has a tiara in this scene with Phyllis. Chance reads Phillip the riot act for bailing, since nobody seems to be wearing strands of garlic to keep the gay away. Then he inexplicably turns grateful for Phillip having that whole disease test. I'm still unclear why he didn't just test himself? Phillip chooses to end the conversation on this high note, and offers his hand to shake, and Chance only leaves him hanging for 20 seconds or so.
Oh, and Billy dumps his mother for liking Cane. So much for the My Three Sons picture I used the other day.
Somebody in wardrobe took pity on Chance today.
1:05PM EST: Jack admits crazy cat lady is after the blond woman whose baby is going to be stolen in a few months. At the bar, everybody discusses hating Victor for something - Billy for making him a figurehead CEO, J.T. forcing him to wear suits for several months (maybe I'm projecting). Somebody isn't going to get as many Christmas cards this year.
1:14PM EST: Phillip walks back into the Chancellor living room, and finds Jill feeling sorry for herself about Billy disowning her. When she asks how his first father-son coffee date was, he says Chance was a little emotionless. I say that he's treating Dad like he does everyone else.
Phillip then blames his bad parenting on Jill, just to make her feel better. She delivers a verbal b!tch slap about sending him to boarding school being different than making your kid visit a cemetery.
Some corporate stuff with Victor happens too, and Billy has too much liquid courage at the bar and heads out to confront him about ruining everybody's lives.
1:20PM EST: Phillip and Jill have this teary scene where he actually forgives her for being a bad mother. Formally. He actually says "I forgive you." And she doesn't slap him. She seems to actually forgive him.
Chance on the other hand, while having more coffee with Nina, announces his Dad is gay. Nina is all "Duh!" and then admits, like any chubby girl on a network show, that she's still in love with the dude, even if he's gay.
Even if his opinion of Phillip hasn't evolved, his fashion is slowly. That last one is the goal.
1:23PM EST: Nick and the redhead make out. And the blond one and Jack fight about their baby, until the blond one admits it's not his baby.
1:27PM EST: At the bar, Mac realizes Billy's headed to the Newman business thingy. J.T. looks pretty. Billy barges into the business thingy and starts acting childish. Victor does his best threatening voice, which is pretty spooky, as usual. And Nick proposes to the redhead with children's jewelry, while the blond one admits that her baby is Nick's.
Preview Time!: No gays forecast, but since Victor's world is starting to implode, maybe Adam will pop up? Don't forget, snicks is back in 30 minutes for ATWT liveblog!
