Well, British actor Andrew Garfield has officially been cast as the new Peter Parker/Spider-Man. I don’t know how to break it to you, but looking at pictures, I think he’s – he’s a ginger. How do you put that up against the traditionally red haired Mary Jane?

The Spurf™ says that an hour long drama is considering making a male character HIV+ in a groundbreaking twist. The skittish show may only give the character a scare, or may drop it all together. He’s not saying who it is or what show. Guesses?

Tyler Perry is reportedly “furious” at TBS over the episode of Boondocks that was a thinly veiled spoof of rumors around his sexuality. He’s threatening a lawsuit, and to sever his relationship with Warner Bros. It gets even more interesting when you read that originally the character’s name wasn’t even changed.

NBC has had to push their relationship serial Love Bites back to midseason and torture us with an extra season of Apprentice because Becki Newton is pregnant, and the premise of the show is that her character is supposed to be a virgin. Awkward!

Conan O’Brien says that NBC tried to get him to shut down his Twitter account, classifying is as a “performance” on the internet that was forbidden under terms of his exit deal.

Ireland passed a Civil Partnership bill through their lower house without a vote, with zero opposition from any of the parties. It now heads to the upper house, where I hope it doesn’t die a slow death like anything that goes to the Senate. Or the New York Senate.

Jane Lynch has been cast on iCarly as Sam’s mom. The criminal, absent mother is much discussed, but never seen, even when she had laser eye surgery and drove to the school to pick up Sam, crashing through the wall. It’s inspired casting.

A ton of stills from Steven Speilberg’s alien drama Falling Skies have been released, and they’re really, really depressing. Even Noah Wylie in a good hairpiece cant’ make this thing look anything but dull.

PBS has an interview with David Carter, author of Stonewall: The Riots That Sparked the Gay Revolution, which in turn was adapted into Stonewall Uprising for PBS, and is in theaters now.

Gay Pride in Chicago had a different sort of Christian demonstration. Wearing black shirts that said “I’m sorry” and carrying signs apologizing for how the church has treated the GLBT community, they offered hugs.
