Morning Meme: Vampires Evolve Into Mutants, Jane Lynch Is Nesting, and Who Wants To See Tim Tebow In His Underwear?

Plus Lorelai gets a boyfriend, Ahmadinejad hates Paul the Octopus, and which Modern Family cast member is streaking down Sunset Blvd?

SyFy is working on a greenscreen Battlestar Galactica web series that is about William Adama during the Cylon War, putting it squarely between Caprica and the BSG series. Facilitating the cost is the fact that before BSG ended, they made high-resolution, 3D scans of the set so they could reproduce it digitally. 10 nine-minute episodes of Blood and Chrome are planned.

Ten years ago a man bought two small boxes of photographs and negatives at a yard sale for $45, negotiated down from an asking price of $70. Now, if fully authenticated, he owns unknown Ansel Adams photos estimated at $200 million.

Edi Gathegi, best known as an evil vampire in the Twilight films, has joined X-Men: First Class as Darwin, who was the first biracial mutant. His ability was instant evolution – push him underwater, he grows gills.

Here’s the full length trailer for the live-action Blue Beetle test footage we previewed last month. It’s much better than the preview led on, and nobody is quite sure what it’s for, but I think I could like it. Very Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

Clay Aiken released Clay Aiken: Tried and True Live on DVD yesterday. This is the companion DVD to his PBS special.

Jane Lynch loves working on Glee, because she’s going through a nesting phase with the new wife and daughter and doesn’t want to travel as much for work. But as much as she enjoys playing Sue Sylvester, she says her favorite character was Nora Stelmack in I Do & I Don’t, which released on DVD yesterday. There’s also a lot of mushy stuff about her wedding.

Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad hates Paul the Octopus. He claims the World Cup predicting cephalopod is "a symbol of decadence and decay among ‘his enemies.’”

Lauren Graham’s new love interest on Parenthood is going to be played by Billy Baldwin. I thought this was awful casting because he was so much older than Lorelai, but it turns out he’s only four years older. She’s just timeless.

Disney dropped $573 million on Playdom, a company that makes many of the games you play on Facebook and Myspace. They’re expected to kick in another $200 million in payouts. If I start seeing Farmville updates roll across my screen with “Amy found three little ducks on her farm named Huey, Dewey and Louie who need a home,” I’m going to go find that Mouse.

Are Legos Satan’s playthings?

Josh Hutcherson is so adorable in The Kids Are All Right, I’m waiting for him to turn 18-years-old so that I don’t feel guilty. He’s perfectly suited for a role of a boy on the cusp of manhood. As for being Peter Parker, I’m not so sure. Check out his audition reel.

I wonder how Tim Tebow’s Focus on the Family friends are going to react to him being an underwear model. Maybe since it’s not a sexy brand of underwear it’s O.K.?

Former American Idol contest Ian Bernardo is suing the show for $300 million for “exploiting his gay mannerisms.” Good luck with that.

Venezuela  is starting a “Latin American reversioning” of the Golden Girls. Several blogs have wondered what happens to Sofia, does she stay Sicilian?

Bob Barker thinks The Price Is Right as hosted by Drew Carey is boring. He fails to add excitement and just plays the games. Maybe someone had Drew spayed? I hear it calms you down.

And finally, I don’t know why I bothered writing the rest of the Meme, because I have a feeling you guys are going to blow the comments up arguing about The A/V Club’s The Best Films of the ‘00s. I’ve seen about a dozen of them, but I wonder how Disney feels that the only animated film in the Top Ten is not one of theirs?

Have at it!
