Massive story spoilers revealed for Llanview's upcoming elections on "One Life To Live"

This post contains massive spoilers about the plot of One Life To Live, and the futures of Kyle, Nick, and Oliver - plus a couple characters you weren't expecting them to be involved with. Do not click through if you don't want to know.

Also, we're anticipating a healthy discussion, so please refrain from revealing the spoilers in the subject lines of your comments - not everybody shakes their Christmas presents.

If you want to know, head on past the jump - and trust me, you so did not see this coming.

While we've been so focused on the KNISH relationship, there have been other things happening in Llanview, like the big election for mayor pitting eternal rivals Vicki and Dorian against each other. Last week we saw them duke it out for the services of David Vickers the Man as a campaign manager. Now it turns out they'll be battling for the love of the gay community of Llanview to decide the election.

Despite my theory that Dorian is a drag queen, it turns out she's all woman - who wants to marry a woman! The show has cast Tia Dionne Hodge to play Amelia. Longtime viewers will recognize the actress as having played Angel Mel many years ago, in what was daytime's first girl-on-girl kiss.

So how does all this come about, and how does it involve our boys? We knew Nick was going to be an activist with Llanview's Gay & Lesbian Alliance, and he provides the entry point in the story for Amelia. Trying to score points with the group after learning they're going to endorse Vicki, Dorian first demands that David pretend to be gay. But David refuses! Seems she'll have to do everything herself.

Once she romances Amelia, she plans a symbolic mass wedding for eleven couples on the eve of the election. Dorian promises if she wins, she'll issue marriage licenses to all the couples so they can take the issue to the courts of Pennsylvania.

Kyle and Nick are amongst the couples planning to wed, and Oliver is part of the police providing security to the group wedding. So he has to watch as his first love prepares to marry the hunky activist. Will he be able to make it past "If there is anyone here who knows a reason why these two should not be wed?"

Will Nick get to kiss his groom?

That we don't know, but we do know that Oliver becomes so frustrated with the protesters of the wedding and their anti-gay views, he outs himself to the whole town in a move that is sure to get Kyle's attention.

OLTL is making this a true soap event, old school. They've hired over 100 extras to act as couples and as protesters for the event, which begins airing on October 30. You can head over to TV Guide Magazine for the full interview with head writer Ron Carlivati and the separate interview with Robin Strasser, who just became one of my favorite people on earth.

What do you think? Great twist? Discuss, but remember, keep the comment headlines spoiler free.
