Check Out the Swinging Bachelor Ken Doll of "Toy Story 3"

Toy Story 3 arrives in theaters June 18th, but we're starting to see more about the new Pixar blockbuster. The plot is risky in that Andy is no longer a child, but off to college, and so most of his toys get donated to a day care center, where they see considerably rougher use than they're used to. Most franchises never age their characters.

Woody (Tom Hanks) goes to college with Andy, and it becomes a mission to reunite the toys. Since most of the toys end up at a day care they do meet some new friends – fourteen in total. Pixar has been teasing us with introductions all month, and here are the ones we know of so far...

First we met Mr. Pricklepants voiced by Timothy Dalton:

Next we met Peas In a Pod. No word on who is voicing the character, but there are three actresses listed on IMDB without a character name, and there are three faces on Peas In a Pod. Could this be a joint character with Whoopi Goldberg, Bonnie Hunt, and Kristen Schaal doing the vocals?

Three voices or just one?

And finally we meet Ken. As in Barbie's husband. We know Ken is voiced by Michael Keaton. For whatever reason, Ken's individual character photo isn't being as widely reported. This is also presumably a licensed Mattel product as far as we can tell, so you can bet Mattel had input on the image of the character. And we can't argue it's not traditional for Ken.

Uhm, nice scarf.

"Grab your binoculars and join Ken on a safari! A swinging bachelor who's always on the lookout for fun, Ken sports the perfect outfit for his eco-adventure: light blue shorts and a leopard-print shirt with short sleeves sure to keep him cool in the hot sun. And after his exciting expedition, Ken will be ready to hit the dance floor in style. His accessories include matching scarf, sensible loafers and a fashion-forward gold belt. Dozens of additional Ken outfits sold separately." (source)

So. That opens a lot of questions, presuming this is Ken's final form. We'd like to be clear – we haven't seen footage of him, and Pixar is a San Francisco company with a great reputation. Ken could talk like a trucker for all we know, and the joke could be that he's not gay, he's just molded that way. He could possibly be a male version of Jessica Rabbit.

But just from the photo we have, let's presume this is Ken in the final version. What do you think?
