"Ugly Betty" Moves to Wednesdays and Brings a Special Guest

What could possibly come between Marc and Amanda?

If you're just watching Ugly Betty when it airs on ABC (or whenever your DVR serves it up), you're still just getting a fraction of the funny. ABC also produces comedy with Mode After Dark, with the antics of Amanda (Becki Newton) as viewed through Mode's security cameras.

But my new love are the vodcasts, with Michael Urie and Becki sitting in her seriously overdone dressing room, answering viewer mail, and generally acting goofy. It's fun to see them off script, and they just seem so lighthearted and accessible.

We got word before Christmas that they planned a very special guest to celebrate the move from the wastelands of Friday programming to their new home on ABC's highly successful comedy block. And conveniently, the guest star lived on the same block. See that? I'm funny, just like they are.

In any case, they got Modern Family's Jesse Tyler Ferguson to sit with them in Becki's dressing room and discuss playing Dr. Farkas on Ugly Betty versus playing Mitchell on Modern Family. And I'm not sure, but it sounds kind of like Michael Urie might have a thing for husky guys. Who knew?

Once Jesse leaves, they talk about him behind his back, which is such a Marc and Amanda thing to do, and then talk about where the plotlines are, plus pics of Marc in bed with a guy. It's a good catch up, in case the you've gotten fuzzy over the holiday break.

Finally, watching them give beauty and relationship advice showcases the sweet side of both actors

Don't forget to tune into Ugly Betty, Wednesday, January 6, at 10pm. Watching Marc deal with his new Bahamas boyfriend, a newbie gay, should be precious.
