Hell’s Kitchen is back open for business in the UK and once again, it’s proving addictive, riveting viewing. Award-winning chef Marco Pierre White (he’s got three Michelin stars, don’t you know!) has just two weeks to train ten celebrities how to cook.
Each evening, under Marco’s watchful eye, the celebrities have to serve up a variety of mouth-watering dishes to a restaurant of discerning celebrities. In other words, a pack of Z-listers who fancy a free meal! And it’s up to the viewing public to vote for the celebrity chef they want to keep in the kitchen.
For one of the trainee celebrity chefs, it’s already proving to be quite a terrifying experience. Openly gay TV presenter and former air steward Brian Dowling, 29, is best known for winning Big Brother back in 2001.
“I think it’s probably going to be quite a challenge, considering I don’t like stress, I don’t like any kind of aggressive atmosphere and I can’t cook,” says Brian.
“I don’t mind criticism whilst it’s positive and about my cooking,” he adds. “But if it gets personal and he tells me that I’m a fat Irish lad … then that’s personal! Anyway, Jean-Christophe Novelli is my favorite chef because of that sexy French accent!”
With his quick wit and cheeky Irish humor, bookies are already tipping Brian to be crowned Britain’s newest celebrity chef. Having recently been voted the favorite Big Brother house mate of all time, it’s hard not to find Brian endearing. We’ve already witnessed him crying over his faulty souffle and hilariously announcing that he has a bit of a crush on maitre d' Nick Munier.
Brian’s fellow celebrity chefs include former world boxing champion Barry McGuigan, model Abigail Clancy, Emmerdale actress Adele Silva, comedian Jim Davidson, singer Paul Young and model and actress Kelly LeBrock. Ex-boy band singer Lee Ryan has already walked from the show.
Hell’s Kitchen is open for business every night at 9pm on ITV1.

Show has problems with homophobia
Jim Davidson quit the show after making a homophobic comment to Brian Dowling. Naturally this is all couched in "how dare anyone be PC!"

There is nothing funny about Jim Davidson
