Sexiest sci-fi hunks on the small screen

Whether it’s investigating aliens like Fox Mulder, facing off against demons like the Winchester brothers, or hunting down vampires like Xander Harris, all these guys have one thing in common: they are absolutely drop-dead gorgeous.

And so, to our countdown of the 15 sexiest small screen sci-fi* hunks to ever grace our TV screens. It wasn’t easy to narrow them down, that’s for sure. Oh, and no apologies for the Joss Whedon influence, either!

Fox Mulder (played by David Duchovny)

Fox Mulder was a total fox – pardon the pun! Smolderingly smart, moody and mysterious, with a sardonic sense of humor, he’s simply the sexiest FBI agent to ever walk the planet. (Closely followed by Seeley Booth and Dale Cooper!) And who can forget him dripping wet, coming out of the swimming pool in those tiny red Speedos?

Clark Kent (played by Tom Welling)

Tall, dark and handsome, with a body to die for and hair you just want to run your hands through, Smallville's young Clark Kent is a fine figure of the man he’s destined to become. And he’s even sexier when he’s under the influence of Red K. Oh Kal-El, you can save us any day!!

Angel (played by David Boreanaz)

Hunky, brooding and yes, dead (or should that be undead?) gorgeous, it wasn’t only a vampire slayer that fell for his devilishly handsome, er, charms. As if Angel wasn’t quite sexy enough for us, Angelus really turned up the heat. Yes, bad boys are far too irresistible for their (and our!) own good.

Sam and Dean Winchester (played by Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles)

Two hunky demon fighters for the price of one! What more could we ask for? As for which one is the best looking brother; Sam or Dean? Well, we’d rather face off against demonic forces than have to choose between them! This pair put the super into Supernatural.

Spike (played by James Marsters)

Bloody gorgeous by name, bloody gorgeous on the eye. William the Bloody - Spike to us Buffy and Angel fans - was at his sexiest without a soul. Yes, another bad boy! The swagger. The long leather duster. The slicked back blond hair. Spike was a complete hottie. And just feast your eyes on those cheekbones!

Clark Kent (played by Dean Cain)

Long, long before we’d ever heard of Tom Welling and Smallville, there was Lois & Clark. Even to this day, no one has quite filled out that famous red and blue costume quite like Dean Cain. Sorry, Brandon Routh.

Captain Jack Harkness (played by John Barrowman)

Charismatic, confident and oh so sure of himself, who wouldn’t jump at the chance to travel through time with this man?! He can flirt with us anytime. And as for that smile *sigh*.

Xander Harris (played by Nicholas Brendon)

Buffy's Xander made dorky geeks cool. And we loved him for it. He certainly gave Angel a run for his money in the black leather jacket and white t-shirt stakes. Too bad he was a vamp at the time!

Peter Petrelli (played by Milo Ventimiglia)

Never mind Hero, this guy is hot! This Petrelli definitely gets our vote. For a young man who has the weight of the world on his shoulders, he always manages to look so darn good. Not that we’re complaining.

Wesley Wyndam-Pryce (Played by Alexis Denisof)

Wesley isn’t your typical demon fighter, no doubt due to his somewhat reserved and pompous bookworm exterior. Charming and witty once you got to know him, Wesley was a fine example of an attractive, intelligent man. Who just so happened to be pretty good at kicking demon arse on Buffy and Angel.

Leo Wyatt (played by Brian Krause)

He charmed one of the Charmed Ones and us too. Sweet, kind and very easy on the eye, Leo doted on his family. Which in our book made him all the more adorable. He’s the sexiest guardian angel to have ever existed.

Russell Varon (played by Eddie Cibrian)

Maybe it’s his uniform. Maybe it’s his smoldering handsome looks or come to bed eyes, either way, Invasion’s Russell Varon is definitely the fittest Florida Everglades Park Ranger we’ve ever come across. We never thought we’d be jealous of an alligator!

Jake Green (played by Skeet Ulrich)

Jericho’s Jake Green is fit as a fiddle, great at taking charge of things in the aftermath of a nuclear attack. Oh, and he can even perform emergency tracheotomies. What’s not to love?

Jack Shephard (played by Matthew Fox)

Great with his hands (well, he is a talented surgeon, you know!), Jack may be somewhat emotionally reserved, but he’s an all-round nice guy. Not to mention a total babe! We would get Lost with him any day of the week. Month. Year.

Max Evans (played by Jason Behr)

And we thought Roswell aliens were ugly! Not this guy! With his model good looks, caring disposition and authorative presence, Max is without doubt the sexiest alien (unless you include Clark Kent) to ever inhabit our TV screens.
