Adam Lambert reportedly topping the iTunes "American Idol" downloads

Thanks to either a moment of producer candor or an iTunes glitch, it looks like we're able to get an idea of how well the American Idol finalists' songs are selling with reports of a brief return of the popularity bars (which have disappeared again, unfortunately, so note that we aren't able to confirm the data as fact).

The top ten songs aren't a big surprise, as Adam Lambert dominates the chart with six of the most popular downloads and his performance of "Mad World" taking the top spot. The rest of the top ten is rounded out by three recordings by Kris Allen and Danny Gokey's "Endless Love".

Remember how when this season got going the judges were predicting an Adam vs. Danny finale? It's sounding more and more like it's going to be Adam vs. Kris, unless Danny can show some versatility.

Here's the Top Ten downloads, as reported by Idol fansite MJ's Big Blog:

1. “Mad World” Adam Lambert (from the Year They Were Born week)
2. “Born to Be Wild” Adam Lambert (from Idol at the Movies week)
3. “Falling Slowly” Kris Allen (from Idol at the Movies week)
4. “The Tracks of My Tears” Adam Lambert (from Motown week)
5. “Ring of Fire” Adam Lambert (from Grand Ole Opry week)
6. “Play that Funky Music” Adam Lambert (from Popular iTunes Downloads week)
7. “Black or White” Adam Lambert (from Michael Jackson week)
8. “Ain’t No Sunshine” Kris Allen (from Popular iTunes Downloads week)
9. “Endless Love” Danny Gokey (from Idol at the Movies week)
10. “To Make You Feel My Love” Kris Allen (from Grand Ole Opry week)

What do you think? After hearing Kris' version of "She Works Hard for the Money", he's the one I'd most like to see in the finals against Adam (and after looking at that chart it's hard to imagine his not making it to the finals, if the chart is indeed correct). Is it too late for anyone else to show that they deserve to make it to the finals?
