In her nightmares, Buffy sees herself the way slashfic writers do
In a three-page short story for the online anthology Dark Horse Presents, Joss Whedon (with artist Jo Chen) offers readers some slashy goodness as Buffy encounters an Angel and Spike who only have eyes — and apparently more — for each other.
Unsurprisingly it all turns out to be a bad dream for Buffy, but I'm amused by how the scene even manages to include a bit about how Angel and Spike realize that they're much better off with each other than with Buffy. I didn't venture into slash fandom often but I remember how the Angel and Spike stories often include a bit (or a long side-rant) about how Buffy isn't good enough for either of these guys. Perhaps a movie remake might be worthwhile if Angel and Spike really did fall for each other... You can read the whole story at the Dark Horse Comics website. Submitted by on Tue, 2009-07-07 16:01. |

Now that is a movie I'd pay top dollar for
I never even thought about those two together, but I wouldn't mind seeing a younger gay version of "Interview with the Vampire" starring those two. You know, rumor has it that Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt were suppossed to kiss in that movie, but Tom refused. Anywhoo, seeing what Spike did on Torchwood and since Angel is just SEX with fangs, I'd love to see that!
Kitty
That's awesome
And so is this bit of Buffy/Spike with a side of slash:

Buffy Movie
I know it was just a throwaway joke line, but it's worth pointing out that the Buffy remake can't use Angel OR Spike. Nor anything invented for the TV series. They only have rights to the original film, and everything in this planned remake has to derive from that.
Hence, the general feeling that it's going to be a disaster, if it happens.
For the record, I DESPISE Spike. He started out well, but then he turned into an overly long running joke, then he tried to rape her... just kidding! He's really the love of her life! Blech.
What No Spangel ?
That sucks! and I don't mean in the good Vimpire way.
The rape thing was ikky and I seem to recall James was unhappy about that scene too.
The Buffy Summers story has been fully explored.... i'd prefer any character spin off to a rehash of that.
Buffy/Spike: The Rape Scene
Actually, I was fine with the attempted rape. It fit perfectly with the way their relationship was played that season. Buffy and Spike were clearly terrible for each other, and she was using him to punish herself. It was almost an inevitability.
My problem was with the next season when, after the attempted rape, they suddenly started writing them as Twoo Wuv. It's almost like the rape scene was the catalyst that made them good for each other. It made me sick.
As much as I love Angel...
David Boreanas would roll over in his proverbial coffin at the thought of having Angel go gay. He's spent too much time hetero-ing Angel up to let him go fey. At least that's how I think his reaction might pan out...

Chuckles!
Angel's character does have
Angel's character does have a few camp characteristics though. We just rarely see them. Oh, and let's not forget Spike's fondness of daytime soap! He was a 'sucker' for Passions!
See what I did there? Yeah. My puns are that bad.
I disagree
I have to say, I was
This was fun. I have to say
This was fun. I have to say I was never a fan of Spike/Angel. I just really loved Buffy/Angel, and didn't want eigther of them to be with anyone else. Spike/Xander would be nice, Xander so has a dark side. Spike/Vampire Xander would be hot. I have to say, I honestly only really liked Spike when he was evil, Season 2 Spike was great. Angelous/Spike I could totally see, and probably is cannon. Too bad we'd never get to see it, although James Marster's kiss on Torchwood remains the hottest thing on TV ever.
Thank you Lyle...
On my face
Ahahaha!
Ohhh if you only knew how perfectly this post coincides with my life.
I'm rewatching all of the Buffy seasons, and have decided (in my own, post-Hagen Dasz-sugar-induced haze) that Xander and Angel totally got it on all the time in Season 1 and the first part of Season 2. Nono, I won't hear any arguments to the contrary. I have decided. It would totally explain why Xander reacts as vehemently as he does to Angel - and he uses his little crush on Buffy as an excuse (he doesn't really show that crush in too many other ways really).
So yes. Xander and Angel FTW.
Angel and Spike canonically did it.
Joss Whedon said so.
