Facebook creator status: Gay!

I'm sure plenty of readers are aware of how addictive the social-networking site Facebook can be for its ability to consolidate and share information. (Me, I'm appreciating the ability to find all those high school friends who spent their last days as a student swearing they'd never return.) Thanks to a profile of Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes in the latest Fast Company, we now know that addiction can be credited to a gay man.

In the article Hughes describes how he worked to get out of his conservative, southern town by applying and getting a scholarship to a prep school in Massachusetts. "I went to boarding school Southern, religious, and straight," he says, "and I left boarding school not being at all religious and not being straight."

Hughes also helped create Barack Obama's Presidential Campaign web presence and, thus, is declared by Fast Company as "The Kid Who Made Obama President". It's pretty impressive to read the profile of Hughes and read that he, for example, continued to develop Facebook while continuing to study at Harvard. At the very least, it's more crush material for those of you who like your guys smart and talented.
