General Hospital: Night Shift update — Portland or bust!
Wow, did you catch part one of Tuesday night's General Hospital: Night Shift finale? While most of the episode focused on a trip down memory lane with Robert Scorpio (which even had me feeling nostalgic, even if I mostly missed it, we got some emotionally effective moments with kyle (Adam Grimes) and Eric (Chad Allen). If you missed it, you can find two clips and major SPOILERS after the break: Kyle finally gets some good news when he learns that Eric was accepted for a clinical trial that could save Eric's life. The excitement is short lived, however, as it turns out that participating in the trial will have Eric leaving Port Charles for Portland. Boo! Hiss! Well, accept for the saving his life part. Kyle tries to push down his feelings as Eric packs his bags but Eric won't let that happen and Kyle finally confesses, "I've never felt like this before, like this could actually be... real. You've changed everything." Eric promises he'll come back for Kyle when he's recovered (and the show signs Allen for more episodes!). Filing his discharge paperwork, Eric finally meets Kyle's former BFF Claire (Carrie Southworth), who is filling out her own exit paperwork having handed in her resignation. Eric tries to convince Claire not to give up their friendship, but since she's packing up her things, that sounds like something that will fall under the "could've, should've, would've" list. Before Kyle sends Eric off to the airport in a taxi he looks back to see Claire carrying away all her personal belongings. Just as they both try to build the courage to talk to each other... a bomb goes off. Once again Night Shift hits all the emotional beats just right. Not a lot happens (excluding the bomb, mind you), but what we get is powerful enough to make you misty-eyed watching it. The preview makes it look like Kyle and Claire survive the explosion but will their friendship get back on track? And, more importantly, will Kyle and Eric's relationship be able to survive a long-distance separation? Check out the clips below: Clip 1

Portland, Oregon, or Portland, Maine?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but they never stipulated whether it was Oregon or Maine...if the latter, that's not TOO far from Port Charles, New York.
Nevertheless, great, great stuff, as has come to be expected from this show--we even got another great kiss between Kyle and Eric! And you're right, even the Robert Scorpio stuff was fantastic--I loved the old school opening and the recreation of the Scorpio home.

Kyle's Hair
Kyle's hair... bugs me.
That is all. ;-)
Mr. Bitters
Am I the only one cynical enough to think that this might just be a plot device to subdue Kyle's love life for a long period of time?
"Nerr. Why hasn't he been with a guy for 3 years?"
"Because, idiot, he has a "maybe boyfriend" in Portland!"
"Oh, right."
Typical evasion technique. Out of sight, but not out of mind.
Nope...
.... Eric will be back for next week's final episode and there's talk that the show wants to bring him back as a regular next season.
For a soap, the acting isn't
