Moviefone's list of Best Movie Sex Scenes overlooks the homoeroticsm of Diego Luna and Gael Garcia Bernal kissing

At first glance, Moviefone's list of The 25 Best Movie Sex Scenes of All Time was encouraging for someone seeking signs of increased gay acceptance. Not only was Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger's love scene from Brokeback Mountain included at number 21, but the top spot was given to the threesome that's the climax of Y Tu Mama Tambien. (The list also includes Boys Don't Cry and Bound.) But then I gave a good look to how the site described the scene:

Good friends Zapata (Gael García Bernal) and Tenoch (Diego Luna) are young boys, just 17, when they take the road trip of their lives with alluring older woman Luisa (Maribel Verdu) -- she's 28! Along the way she has sex with each of them, but in a scene pivotal to the movie and all of their lives, she teases them into a frenzy in a cantina, leads them back to the hotel room and and proceeds to put the "aw" in sexual awakening.

Maybe I'm viewing this through queer-filtered lenses, but doesn't a key part of that sex scene come when Luisa gently pushes Zapata and Tenoch together, encouraging them to finally act upon the attraction that's been apparent throughout the film? It certainly seems odd that the homoerotic moments of that scene are glossed over or euphemized as "putting the 'aw' in sexual awakening." Putting Y Tu Mama Tambien at the top of the list seems less daring if you ignore why that scene was pivotal to the movie.

Then again, maybe someone was being excessively spoiler-wary. Still, if that were the case, it seems a bit conservative to worry about spoiling the pivotal moment from a 2001 movie.
