It's daytime Emmy nomination announcement day and The View will be the place where the nominees are announced. Among those who are expected to be there are As the World Turns' Van Hansis -- will he get another well-deserved nom?
Criminal Minds (CBS) 9:00 PM EDT
Tonight's episode is said to involve a serial killer "whose conflicted sexual identity fuels his crime spree" -- I have to admit that description leaves me a little worried. Buffy fans might also be interested in checking out a guest appearance by Nick Brendon.
Boston Legal (ABC) 10:00 PM EDT
One area where this legal drama never fails to be interesting is in its casting choices and tonight's episode includes an appearance by gay fave Christine Ebersole (most recently seen mocking her Tony-nominated Grey Gardens role on The Big Gay Sketch Show) as a cattle rancher who Denny Crane (William Shatner) falls for. Shatner and Ebersole sharing the small screen, that is why I still watch this show.

I just watched Criminal Minds
I think it was okay. The serial killer was so f**ked up by his homophobe abusive father that he thought being gay was way, way worse than killing someone. What does this remind us of? It was a little annoying to see the rest of the gay men portrayed as promiscuous partygoers out for a good time. But, I guess that is sort of accurate if you are presenting only the single gay tourist crowd. No different than the single straight tourist crowd. The FBI team were great and matter-of-fact about the gay themes. And Det. LaMontagne from New Orleans (played by yummy Josh Stewart) returned to the show as the partner of one of the victims. His last words about his partner were awesome- "It's the last thing I would have cared about...him being gay. He was my friend and I loved him". Overall, I thought they did a good job.
I say we take the warning labels off everything and let nature take it's course.
It was okay
I love Criminal Minds, even if they do get a bit graphic with the violence sometimes. This episode was an okay one. The guy playing the Lousiana dective had too flat of a voice for my liking. It was pretty cool that no one was bothered by the gay angle, though. (Other than the father of the murderer.) It was just presented as a part of the victim's lives.
This has nothing to do with this particular episode, but I always assumed that Reid was gay. The episode that sent them to Louisiana last year, which, ironically, involved the extra dectective in this episode. It was the one that dealt with how he initially responded to the whole kidnapping/torture stuff he went through in the previous episode. It had him looking up a guy he knew that was playing the piano in a bar in New Orleans. I just assumed that the guy was a former boyfriend from the way Reid acted about him, and the way his boss acted about Reid going to this piano bar player. I was suprised when I found out later that Reid wasn't gay.
