Paul James as Calvin on Greek

As the World Turns (CBS) Check local listings
This week's Nuke appearance sounds a bit on the marginal side as our boys are attending Ali and Aaron's engagement party. At least in theory, that gets me nostalgic for the days when soaps would often have those big parties where various couples would just be there as a happy couple. Still, it's not a party nowadays without a liveblog so be here starting at 2PM Eastern for all the news in fits of snark.

Gavin and Stacy (BBC America) 8:40 PM EDT
Well, I've been hearing praise for this show for some time now and I'm still trying to figure out if I should be taking that praise seriously and if the promos airing on BBC America are just really, really bad. Still, this one might be worth checking out not only because it stars Matthew Horne (who gay anglophiles probably recognize from The Catherine Tate Show) but because Stacey's older brother (who appears later in the season) is gay.

Greek (ABC Family) 9:00 PM EDT
Greek returns for its second season and that means gay jock Calvin is back for more Greek system drama, as this week frat rivalries (again) test Calvin's relationship with Rusty. Didn't they do that story already? Or are the synopsis bears at ABC Family on vacation?

The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency

The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency (Oxygen) 10:00 PM EDT
After firing Peter Hamm at the end of last season, Janice now has to whip her agency into shape ... and that means moving all the models together into a single house? And model eliminations? Ohboy. Hopefully, out model JP Calderon will get to be in the spotlight during the quieter moments, like he did last season.

Million Dollar Listing (Bravo) 10:00 PM EDT
Madison finds he still has feelings for his ex-girlfriend which apparently leads to "sexual confusion" for the realtor who describes himself as polyamourous. Is she the "Did you make that word up?" woman from the previews? And isn't "polyamourous" something a bit more than a synonym for bisexual?

Night Shift's Kyle (Adam Grimes) and Claire (Carrie Southworth)

General Hospital: Night Shift (SOAPnet) 11:00 PM EDT
After last week's tedious rocker-who-romanticizes-death storyline, Claire gets back to spending time with gay BFF Kyle, playing cupid as she decides to secretly sign him up for a dating website. Hmm ... I believe Chad Allen isn't set to debut for several more weeks, so will any online hookup for Kyle be a doomed relationship or will there be a long e-mail courtship before they meet?

In Love with Gavin & Stacey

If you can get past the first bit in Gavin & Stacey and get back into the British rhythm of things, the show will completely charm you by the end of the first episode (and continue speedily down the path the rest of the season).

Plus bonus points for a re-occuring cameo from gay fave Russell Tovey.

Just watch. It's a straight coupling romance that all the gays will definitely approve of!

    Well, so far...

my issue with Gavin and Stacey are that none of the BBCA promos are the slightest bit funny. I'm hoping they're just bad promos put together by someone who doesn't get the show.

Great show, give it a chance.

I always worry for our quaint little British shows as I can never imagine any of them working in the US.  I think it works the other way around because we are so familiar with many aspects of US culture, whereas the US tends to be a more insular nation I suppose.  That's not a dig by the way, I think the main reason for it is simply due to the sheer size of the place.  Of course The Office worked (and then some), so maybe I'm worrying over nothing.
