Queerview television guide for March 17

Ted Allen continues to answer long-standing culinary mysteries on Food Detectives and tonight he asks if there's any truth to that thing they say about those cutting boards made of wood.

But first, Ellen follows up on her having her wife for a public chat with a couple of gay-faves.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show (syndicated) Check local listings
After yesterday's couple's day, today is a gay-ish day for Ellen with the gay-adjacent Julia Louise-Dreyfus and Andy Samberg who frequently turns to homoeroticsm for humor on Saturday Night Live (including that cringe-inducing I Love You, Man).

American Idol (Fox) 8:00 PM EDT
The eleven remaining singers go country for Grand Old Opry Week and, considering the kind of attention he's gotten outside of Idol we'll certainly have our eye on how the show discusses his personal life or his performance picks.

Food Detectives (Food Network) 9:00 PM EDT
Tonight Ted asks if wood cutting boards really do have anti-bacterial properties (I certainly hope so, this could disrupt my sense of mise en place otherwise) and explains how smell and taste interact.
