The Martha Stewart Show (syndicated) Check local listings
Nathan Lane is set to appear on the show today ... I guess we'll see more and more of him as his current play, November becomes more and more timely.
Beauty and the Geek (CW) 8:00 PM EDT
It's performance time as the Beauties and the Geeks are challenged to come up with a show, and gay geek "Greggie" certainly brings the cute when he dances in the preview. Also, the Beauties try to use their looks to manipulate the Geeks ... advantage, Greg!
The Big Gay Sketch Show (Logo) 10:00 PM EDT
Tonight's sketches include one where "First Lady Barbara Bush sells her pearl necklaces" ... I hope that's a stinging parody of the classist view she expressed in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and not an extended dirty joke. That hope is going to go in vain, isn't it?
The Riches (fx) 10:00 PM EDT
The Malloys are back for a strike-shortened second season and, from the looks of the trailers, they're tempted back into their con as Doug and Cherien Rich (Eddie Izzard and Minnie Driver). Margo Martindale shows up in the trailers, which means we might learn what's next for Nina and her gay husband. Sam Malloy (Aidan Mitchell) also returns as the youngest, cross-dressing member of the family. I've been eagerly awaiting for more Riches ever since the first season ended so I'm pretty excited about tonight -- who's with me in the excitement?
Miss/Guided (ABC) 10:30 PM EDT
A cynical viewer might note that this new comedy, about a woman who returns to her high school as a guidance counsellor, spent the summer going through different revamps and showrunners, typically a bad sign for a show. However, the same cynic would have also had low expectations for Brothers & Sisters. In either case, gay viewers might want to check this out to see out actor Tim Bagley (pictured at left).

TORCHWOOD Spoilers
io9.com reports:
"In this week's Torchwood, Gwen walks in on Captain Jack and Ianto, naked and affectionate. And then Jack, still dissheveled, tells her to stop investigating the rift activity that's making people disappear"
Finally! The money episode!
Coalminers' Mountain
I'm not a much of a fan of The Big Gay Sketch Show---rather too vulgar for my taste (can I say that without sounding hopelessly stuck-up?), and a lot of the time it simply isn't funny. But I did check out tonight's episode, and have to say that the spoof movie trailer for Coalminers' Mountain really did crack me up; pretty darn funny. The "lesbian drama" skit at the end was funny, too...
I'm like a superhero, with no powers or motivation...
Big Gay Sketch not
If you can make it through the painful Babs Bush skit (only 2 minutes, though it felt like 20), the next 2 bits were suprisingly subtle and funny -
Coalminer's Mountain - "brave" hetero actors playing gay plus Morgan Freeman as the Magic Negro
paint-your-own-ceramics reality show - underplayed parody of just about every stupid workplace reality show
oh, and Paolo Andino needs to get a new agent, cause they are wasting him on dumb beefcake and hetero boyfriend roles. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Paolo should wear more clothes, they should just be better and more complex half-(or less)-clothed roles.
As for Miss Guided, Tim Bagley was, sadly, visible for only about 3 seconds, but I thought the show had a lot of promise. It's funny, quirky, kinda subtle, kinda smart, just like like another show that star Judy Greer was in - "Arrested Development." Maybe exec producer Ashton Kutcher's cameo on Thursday's episode wil help it break that funny, cerebral comedy losing streak and we'll have a chance to find out more about Tim's math teacher character and whether he can do more than phrase lunch arrangements as word problems (brrrr!)
