Cover Guy (Here!) OnDemand
Here! takes their stab at making a reality competition show centered around finding the next great male model. This Canadian import is actually in its third season, so I'd guess it's more compelling than Bravo's Manhunt.
That Mitchell and Webb Look (BBC America) 9:20 PM EDT
After a pretty gay-inclusive first season, BBC America is taking us right into the second series, which promises new characters and fresh ideas (though I hear Sir Digby Chicken Ceasar and Numberwang return). With the way the comedy duo will include gay characters in situations that aren't specifically gay, it's hard to tell how gay friendly tonight's episode will be, 'cept that it's bound to be very funny.
Paula's Party (Food Network) 10:00 PM EDT
Normally I dont' care for the Food Network's celebrity-centric shows where personality tries to trump boring recipes but this could be a whole lot of fun with gay fave Amy Sedaris (who brings a "Nice to meet you." cake made of cold cuts) shows up for a pajama party at Paula Deen's. The only thing I could imagine more interesting is a meeting between Sedaris and Sandra Lee.
Real Time with Bill Maher (HBO) 11:00 PM EDT
Tonight's discussion includes Congressman Barney Frank, who has been speaking out in favor of financial reforms this week. I'm sure recent Wall Street crises will be part of the discussion.
Saturday
The Life and Times of Allen Ginsberg (Logo) 8:00 PM EDT
The life of the visionary queer poet is examined in this comprehensive biography that made use of over 120 hours of historical footage of Ginsberg. Taking a look at Ginsberg's life also means examining 60 years of American culture including the cultural changes that came from the artistic movements Ginsberg was involved in.
Torchwood (BBC America) 9:00 PM EDT
I've got mixed news for you Torchwood fans. Tonight's episode is (again) fairly Gwen-centric episode, as it focuses on her wedding to Rhys and, while Gwen is put in danger it doesn't lead to the ending many of you wish to see. That said, I've read some pretty good reviews of this one, so maybe it overcomes those flaws... or maybe I'm just really trying hard not to be too cynical.
Sunday
Shameless (Sundance Channel) 9:00 PM EDT
Gay teen Ian gets his turn in the spotlight as he starts dating a member of a notorious local family to preserve his closet status - even as his brother Lip starts getting involved with her sexually.
