News, Reviews & Commentary on Gay and Bisexual Men in Entertainment and the Media

The Tyra Banks Show (syndicated) Check local listings
Today's show takes a look at "gays in the ghetto", with two of her guests being men who've suffered from anti-gay violence in the past. Tyra also visits a safe haven organization, House of Jourdan, and talks with a transgender youth who has been living out on the streets. I know Tyra has a tendency to inapropriately make these "issue shows" about herself somehow, but this is one of those times I'm happy enough to see her sharinga perspective that doesn't enter the conversation very often.

Ugly Betty (ABC) 8:00 PM EDT
Gene Simmons makes a return appearance as Amanda agrees to do a reality show with her dad, Wilhelmina returns to Mode and Betty finally starts to fall for Gio as she realizes that she has to let Henry go. (Finally! I swear, doormats were starting to get irritated with Betty last week.) Oh, and more Eddie Cibrian as Coach Diaz ... this is sounding like a promising week as we head towards the season finale. Are you getting as excited as I am?

Step It Up and Dance (Bravo) 10:00 PM EDT
The remaining dancers are challenged to learn a combination of Salsa, Flamenco and Tango, though with "mean gay" Miguel as the last gay man to cheer for and no doubt more talk of manliness in the judging, I think I'll wait for snicks' always-sharp and funny recap to decide if I'll watch this one.

Sex: The Revolution (VH1) 10:00 PM EDT
The decadence of the disco era, including the Studio 54 scene, as well as the AIDS crisis are part of tonight's focus. I've been pretty impressed with this documentary series and its sometimes-surprising choices of talking heads. They've done a good job making sure to examine gay perspectives on the various eras thus far.
