Queerview television guide: October 22

Is he openly gay or isn't he? Tonight, gay TV exec Devon Banks returns to 30 Rock. When we first encountered Devon, he was out but then he jumped back into the closet in order to marry into the powerful Geist family.

But first, today's daytime lineup is very gay as Tim Gunn visits Dr. Oz, the iconic Lily Tomlin visits The View and Mika performs for Ellen.

The amazing Tim Gunn appears today to put together a "sizzling sister makeover" after Dr. Oz deals with a stay-at-home mom abusing alcohol. I've only watched Dr. Oz a few times (he does have my favorite among the daytime medical shows). Does this show usually contrast such a serious topic with a feel-good segment like this?

Mika will be performing today, which just may finally get me to check out a single from his new album (every time I start to look to sample the album, I get distracted by that video of those four guys dancing to "Lollipop").

The View (ABC) Check local listings
Gay icon Lily Tomlin stops by to discuss her new show, An Evening of Classic Lily Tomlin, as well as the possibility of her returning to Desperate Housewives. Tomlin also will be appearing on Damages with Glenn Close, who appeared yesterday, so it'll be interesting to see if that'll come up.

Mika

Mika (Logo) 6:00 PM EDT
After his visit with Ellen, the newly-out singer is profiled by Logo with the mix of performances and interview footage you'd expect. Imagine the discussion we'd be having if he were still playing coy about his sexual orientation.

30 Rock (NBC) 9:00 PM EDT
Tonight Devon Banks is seeking revenge against Jack Donaghy. Last we saw, Devon had a nervous breakdown after stealing control of Sheinhardt by marrying Don Geist's daughter and selling the 'E' in GE to Samsung. I guess he blames Jack for that.

Project Runway (Lifetime) 10:00 PM EDT
Michael Kors has a secret challenge for the designers this week. Looking at the previews, it leaves everyone very upset, both judges and designers. Does that mean another infuriating challenge with unrealistic expectations?

infoMania (Current) 10:00 PM EDT
Last week, we saw Sarah Haskins take on beauty contraptions, so tonight is probably Bryan Safi's turn to make fun about how gays are depicted in the media.

It's a fight over a "gay reality show" where a producer paid for footage to be filmed and never got anything for the money. The show would have been called "House of Milliown" -- my Google-fu says Milliown was a contestant on the second season of I Love New York. Does this mean I missed a bit of gay representation due to my lack of interest in VH-1 reality stars?
