Queerview television guide: the Weekend of October 23

This weekend's gay TV picks includes a debate over a "gay reality show" on Judge Alex, another showdown between Marc and Betty on Ugly Betty, 130-degree weather on The Amazing Race and the debut of The New Twenty on Logo.

The highlight, however, is Neil Patrick Harris's latest bit of musical villainy as he voices The Music Meister on a musical episode of The Brave and the Bold.

It's a fight over a "gay reality show" where a producer paid for footage to be filmed and never got anything for the money. The show would have been called "House of Millown" - my Google-fu says Milliown was a contestant on the second season of I Love New York. Does this mean I missed a bit of gay representation due to my lack of interest in VH-1 reality stars?

The Oprah Winfrey Show (syndicated) Check local listings
Wanda Sykes joins Oprah for this week's Fridays Live episode. Hearing her take on current events should hold those of us waiting to see Wanda's upcoming late-night show to make its debut.

The Brave and the Bold (Cartoon Network) 7:30 PM EDT
It's finally here, the DC animated universe's contribution to musical episode mania that has hit TV land, with Neil Patrick Harris as the Music Meister, a villain who forces Batman and Black Canary (drat, I was hoping for Zatana) to join forces.

That wouldn't be Monsieur Mallah in the background, would it?

Ugly Betty (ABC) 9:00 PM EDT
It's another round of Betty versus Marc after Hilda helps her get a big scoop. As much as I enjoyed watching Betty team up with Marc and Amanda, seeing them as rivals again could be a fun ride.

Saturday

The Graham Norton Show
Graham gets very camp this week as he has guilty-pleasure author Jackie Collins and hilarious, plus-size comedienne Jo Brand.

Sit Down, Shut Up (Fox) Midnight EDT
As Larry works to help arrange a class reunion, Andrew is plotting revenge against Jose Conseco. Only two more weeks until Wanda Sykes' new show.

Sunday

The Amazing Race (CBS) 8:00 PM EDT
As the teams continue to race through the Middle East, the unforgiving heat begins to get to them, leading to one team to face a breakdown. At least things will be quieter and better behaved after last week's elimination.

Brothers & Sisters (ABC) 10:00 PM EDT
Sarah's new guy, Luc, charms the Walker family with his charm and his tango skills . Meanwhile, Kevin and Scotty just may have found a candidate for their surrogate mother. Is it just me, or does this

By the way, be sure to join us for our Livechat of Luc and his speedo on B&S!

The New Twenty (Logo) 10:00 PM EDT
Logo's newest movie follows a quintet of college friends including Ben who finds matches on the local craiglist equivalent and Tony, who is trying to figure out how to bring up that conversation about commitment with his boyfriend.

If I'm reading this right, Nate Berkus should be returning as Oprah and Gayle go to visit the Texas State Fair and meet with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.

As Llanview's gay community gets ready for a mass wedding, Fish makes a plea to Kyle to think carefully about his participation in the matrimonial protest.

    Livechat for B&S

We will be livechatting B&S this week. It's going to be event driven from here on out, but the scenes we're had spoilers from make this week enough of an event, with Justin dipping Gilles, and the pool scenes, to make it campy fun.

    Dawn French

Is that Dawn French as Jackie Collins from French and Saunders in the top image?
    TragicalThing's picture

    I don't get it

Jackie Collins + heavy set comedian Jo Brand = Dawn French in the French and Saunders parody of the Collins sisters called "Lucky Bitches?"

While I see why it still doesn't make sense to use Dawn French's image instead of Jackie Collins.

    For the most part...

...it means "Lucky Bitches" is my favorite F&S sketch.
